SoFlaJo Just Love Her Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have a trio from a new to me brand called SoFlaJo to share with you. This trio is the Just Love Her Collection for Valentines Day this year! This post is going to be a little bit short and sweet, mostly because I'm still sick with this nasty cold and my head feels like it's up in the clouds lol! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Goldstone is a red toned brown crelly with a gorgeous golden shimmer. This was my favorite from the trio as soon as I saw the bottle. The formula was ok, I found it to be a bit on the watery and sheer side but it did build up to full opacity. I used 4 coats for the photos below.

Pink If You Love M is a pink scatted holo. The holo is nice in this one, it's not terribly strong but it's nice and visible in the sun! The formula was good, it was a little thin but it was easy to work with and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Teal Me A Bedtime Story is star, moon and hex glitter in a sheer teal shimmery base. I'm a bit on the fence with this one, I want to like it because I like the fun glitter but I just don't care for the base its in. It feels a bit too frosty looking to me and it kind of takes away from the glitter. This is a bit sheer, you could get it opaque on it's own with 3-4 coats but I decided to layer it over Nicole by OPI That's Putting It Mildly (a nude beige) for my photos. The formula was ok, I had some trouble getting the glitter out because the brush was pretty thin, it made it hard to grab the glitter and get it onto the nail. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

SoFlaJo is available at http://www.soflajo.com/, each polish retails for $10 a bottle!

  1. The colors are pretty enough, and the price is pretty good, but it just sounds a bit underwhelming performance wise and these aren't quite unique enough to want to deal with the hassle of the formula.

  2. Thanks, they all look very tempting on you, but it's good to know also about their real consistency and application.

  4. Push & Shove is much more chrome, unfortunately I no longer own the Essie so I can't compare them

I'm curious if Goldstone is a dupe for Contrary Polish's Almandine?

I love Push and Shove, my most favourite polish ever!!!

  8. With Push and Shove there is absolutely 0 reason why you can't extend
wear by putting a top coat on. The only thing the top coat I used was
bring out some small imperfections but to me it looked like brushed
chrome which I was totally okay with. If you'd like, I can post some
photos with and without top coat as a comparison but it definitely
extends the wear to more like a normal polish.

  9. I put a topcoat over Push and Shove and it's wearing like a regular polish (2-3 days depending on what I do).

  10. Thanks Jen! Sorry I'm just getting back to this. The swatches are beautiful. I have gone to a less thick formula that I've been told is so much easier to deal with because you can build it up to it's own opacity and not have to worry about thinning out. Glitter is not something I use a lot of, and just for the reason you mention, very difficult most of the time to get shapes out of the bottle, but you did a great job. As for the question if this looks like Almandine, there's no color shifting in this polish, it's a gorgeous gold glitter.

I'm a bit late on this discussion, but I just did a mani with Over and Over A Gwen with one light coat of In True Stefani Fashion on top and I must say this is the prettiest red I've ever worn. I got two packages of this on clearance months ago and have just gotten around to trying it. :)

  13. Idk if you're still looking, but I found "Red Hot Rio" to be pretty much an Exact dupe on my nails. The only difference was Gwen lasted 5 or so days, but Rio lasted more than 7. I don't know how, I don't know why, but it was remarkable. I went swiming a few times that week, and still I only had tip wear.
