Best of 2013: Most Viewed Posts!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Hope 2014 is treating everyone well so far, considering it just started I'm sure it is! Today I'm planning on being lazy, watching the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl and not much else! I figured since I'm having a lazy day today I'd put up a little best of kind of post. I've already posted my favorites for the year so today is kind of like YOUR favorites...or at least the posts that have had the most page views in 2013!

I've never done a post like this so I thought it would be fun to gather what you guys were loving! I'd love to hear in the comments what you'd like to see more of on The PolishAholic also! These are in order from 10th most viewed post to my top post of the year! To see the original posts you can click on the name of the collection/post!

#10 with 54,548 page views is Essie's Resort 2013 Collection!

#9 with 59,511 page views was my Spring 2013 Comparisons! I have to say I am SO happy a comparison post made it into my most viewed for this year. I love doing these posts even though they are extremely time consuming. I'm so happy that you guys enjoy them!

#8 with 60,261 page views was the OPI Bond Girls Collection. Glad you guys like the liquid sand as much as I do!!

#7 with 62,924 page views was the China Glaze Spring 2013 Avant Garden Collection!

#6 with 73,707 page views is the Essie Fall 2013 Collection!

To see my top 5 viewed posts for 2013 click the read more button below!

#5 with 81,210 page views is the China Glaze Sunsational Collection for Summer 2013. I was a bit surprised to see this so high up on the list since I didn't really care for the collection personally :P

#4 with 81,246 page views is the OPI Holiday 2013 Mariah Carey Collection! Crazy how close #4 and #5 were, only 36 page views separated them!

#3 with 98,867 page views is another OPI Collection, the Oz The Great And Powerful Collection! Side note about this...has anyone else noticed that their glitter in When Monkey's Fly isn't as curled as it was before? I was organizing my stash the other day and it looked like some of the big hex glitter had flattened out...yay!

#2 with 118,284 page views was OPI's Euro Centrale Collection for Spring 2013!

#1 with 129,298 page views was OPI's Fall 2013 San Francisco Collection! This collection had easily my favorite OPI of the year (Alcatraz Rocks) in it, I'm not surprised to see it as the most viewed post of the year!

So there ya go! OPI really ruled the list for 2013 claiming half the top 10 and all 4 of the top spots! Hope you all have a great New Years Day!

I loved all those posts, and frankly all the posts on this blog!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog, that's why your blog is easily my favourite, your swatches are incredible!! Though I'd be happy with any swatches you post, I especially love your indie swatches (cause I love indie polish) so it'd be nice to see more of them :)

  2. I hope this means less indie posts and more mainstream posts in the new year. I've gotten beyond bored with the indie brands, all they ever do are holos and glitter bombs.

  3. I find it interesting that the indies didn't make it. IMHO, they are making the most interesting polishes. Happy 2014!

  4. I thought that was interesting too, the entire top 20 was all mainstream and comparisons posts!

  5. I love your comparison posts and yours are the only ones I look to when I want to buy polish. I hope you keep doing them in the future and in my opinion, you're THE go-to for comparisons and honest reviews!

  6. Your comparison posts are my favorite! They're super helpful especially now that my stash is nearing 500!

  7. I just wanted to thank you for your site. I know you must put a tremendous amount of time into the site and I appreciate it. I love your comparison posts! I'm surprised they all didn't make it into your top ten most viewed posts. This post was really interesting! Thanks!

  9. Comparison posts are the best! I always check these posts before I buy a polish I'm unsure of. Thanks for taking the time to do them, they always save ne money. Happy New Year, Jen! Your blog is my go-to for nail polish. I am constantly searching your stash pages. Thanks! :D

  10. Ahh! This post is making me crave all those pretty summer polishes, that I somehow resisted, all over again! I really appreciate all the time you invest in your posts. You are always my go to blogger when I want to see the true color and an honest review of a polish. I hope this year brings you so much happiness, Jen!

  11. Your comparison posts are seriously amazing. I have been known to stand in the middle of the store, searching your comparison posts on my phone, before purchasing a polish that feels a bit too 'familiar' to me. You have saved me money more than once! Thank you for all that you do!

  12. Omgosh, Jen, your #10 post this year is half of what my entire pageview count is, lol. Super fun post! OPI was fanfreakingtastic this year :)

I know I have thanked you many times on Facebook and on here but really... Thank You Jen!

I'm not lying or exaggerating when I say I ALWAYS pull out my phone and pull up your blog when I'm not sure about a polish.

  14. My guess would be the cost/availability. I might love what some of the indie makers are doing, but at $12-20 a bottle plus shipping, I just can't afford it. I often don't click the jump links, knowing that I can't afford what comes after so why bother looking? And, inevitably, the few times I decided something was worth the exorbitant cost, it was sold out! Every time. But when I roll into CVS and see the OPI or Essie display, I can easily check Jen's swatches and see which ones are worth buying.

  15. Have you check out indie brands like Contrary Polish and Elevation Polish? Both of them do a lot of shimmers and/or cremes. You might like them!

  23. Please never stop doing your comparison posts! I don't know how many times I have looked them up on my phone while standing in Sally's or a drugstore, trying to determine whether or not I actually need another army green or cobalt blue!

I've only known about your blog for a few months and am sooooo excited to see the older posts & am looking forward to 2014 with you!! I've told you before & I'll say it again: Seeing your swatches & comparisons has turned me on to colors I thought I wouldn't like & has saved me money on colors I thought I would like & didn't. I like seeing the Indie brands too! I'm a "Poshaholic" to the core & love seeing what's available. Your swatch of Glitter Daze's light sparkly blue (I can't remember the name) was so pretty I went straight to their site & bought it. They had a mini-size available so it really didn't cost that much. Thank-you for the considerable time & effort you put into your posts. I look forward to reading each and every one. :)

  25. Thank you Natalie <3 So glad you like that GlitterDaze polish!

  26. :D I won't, I love doing them just for that reason!

  27. Unfortunately for my wallet, most of the time I'm convinced that the polishes are similar, and then I buy more! Still love you for it though!

  28. Your OPI posts may have singlehandedly created my nail polish infatuation!
Keep up the great work :)

  29. Girlll those pageview numbers are making me drop my jaw, lol! Please just keep up the great work, you are my number 1 resource for new collections and comparisons and I love for you that! Oh, and Degen. And Oreo. Please, more of those always ♥♥♥.

  30. Thanks for sharing this! i only recently started reading your blog so it's nice to have a handy guide like this to what's been most interesting here this past year. Cheers!!

  31. maybe this speaks to the practical value of the content you're producing! i can say that the time i personally put into reading about polish is because I want insight into products that I can actually afford, which are readily accessible to me. 'exotics' can be intriguing, but good, practical advice about mainstream offerings is what will keep me coming back. cheers!

  32. Oh, good. Glad to know I'm not the only one who does that!

  33. I would like to reiterate how valuable your comparison posts are! Before I found your blog I had spent money on many nail polishes that looked great in the bottle but did nothing for me once I had them on. It's so great to see how similar shades translate onto the nail so I can avoid the ones that just don't do it for me.
I love checking your blog for new colours and have purchased several with the help of your reviews. I might be spending more money on nail polish now but I am happy with everything I buy so I'm ok with it :-D

  34. I love your comparison posts!! Really, they are the best on the web. I am always looking back to your comparisons - they are super helpful too!! You have a wonderful blog... your hard work really shows.
