Saturday Spam: Colors by Llarowe

Hi guys! Happy weekend! Anyone doing anything fun this weekend? I am doing the same super exciting things I did last weekend, cleaning and de-hoarding random junk. YAY -_-

Today I have a bit of Colors by Llarowe spam for ya. These are form several different collections that Leah Ann has put out recently! I always look forward to seeing what Leah Ann is doing, her holos are always great and I love the other finishes/shades also! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Coal In My Stocking is a dark blue toned grey base with silver micro glitter. The formula was good, it was a little bit thick but easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Come Dance The Hora is small silver glitter and larger bright blue glitter. This has a nice holo to it out in the sun also. I really like this one, I have a similar Essie shade from late last year that I actually was kinda meh about but something about this I really like...I think it's the holo. The formula was good, it was a little thick but easy to apply and work with. This is opaque on it's own but you could layer it over another base color if you wanted to. I used 2 coats on it's own for the photos below.

Days Of Our Polish is a blue green holo. I like how this is nicely right between blue and green, it didn't lean too much toward either shade on me. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and super opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below but it could easily be a 1 coater depending on how you polish.

Grace is a blue/purple/magenta durochrome. The shift is nice and this is nice and opaque so you don't have to layer it over a darker shade. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Hellcat is a purple/magenta duochrome with coppery glitter. I love the addition of glitter in this one, anything copper I am a fan of pretty much haha! The formula was ok, it was a little thick but it didn't give me any application issues. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Moonshine is a dark vampy red jelly with silver micro glitter. The formula was good, again a little thick but I had no application issues. This did dry with a bit of texture and it ate top coat so you'll need a couple coats of top coat to get it smooth. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Ruthless People is a raspberry/pink jelly base with holographic glitter. This reminds me of Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle but a more pink version of it. If you like that polish you'll probably like this one also.  The formula was on the thick side, I ended up needing to thin it so make it workable but I had no issues after that. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shy-Ann is a slightly dusty purple toned pink holo. I feel like I have a lot of pink holos but somehow this still feels unique to me! The formula was good, it was a little thick but easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Silver & Gold is a silver and gold holo duo. I only have the silver unfortunately but the gold looks pretty great in other swatches I've seen. The silver is all kinds of crazy holographic, I love it! The formula was good, it was a little thick but easy to work with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Man In The Red Suit is a red holo. As is the case with most red holos they just don't translate well in photos, the holo was much stronger than it appears! The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star is a dark blue jelly with silver micro glitter. This is supposed to be a dupe of Essie's Starry Starry Night, since I don't own the Essie I don't know how close it actually is but I sure do like it either way! The formula was a bit on the thick side but I had no application issues. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Voodoo is a purple jelly base with multichromatic shimmer. If you are a fan of Max Factor's Fantasy Fire you'll like this, it looks like it's pretty similar. The color shift isn't crazy on it's own but I think if you layered this over the right color it would be. The formula was good, this was a bit sheer but the it was easy to build up. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Woman From Tokyo is a dark purple holo. There is a touch of a pinkish shimmer to this that I love and the holo is much stronger in person than in photos. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and super opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

  4. Is it me or all of CbLs pretty thick? I have several and they all seem thick and in need of thinner. I have one that has sat for a few weeks and seem to get even worse. Has she mentioned this at all? I really love her colors so I would hate to stop buying them because of the formula

  6. Is it just me or is Hellcat a dupe of Pretty Serious's Naughty Night Shift Nurse??

These are gorgeous! I checked the website & they're ALL sold out. I understand why. They look somewhat similar to other colors but have clear differences that make them stand out.

  9. No, I've noticed that too. Normally I prefer that kind of consistency but sometimes they definitely do need thinner

I noticed the same thing with their jellies. Holos are OK though.

  11. I own both of them, and they look similar in blogger photos but they are not dupes IRL. Unfortunately this is why Llarowe will no longer carry PS, because people accused her of doing so.

  13. Hellcat is by far my favorite of these. I love a good holo, but Hellcat seems a little more unique.

  14. Ok seriously before I buy a polish I come and check it out here to see if you liked it, had any problems with it, because if you did I know I'm not going to like it. Also as the woman said below, I blame you for my polish addiction.
