OPI Spring/Summer 2014 Brazil Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, mine was good! I went and saw Juliet Simms live, if you watched The Voice a few seasons ago you probably know her from there. I know of her from a band she used to be in called Automatic Loveletter. It was a great time, she's pretty incredible live! Today I have OPI's Brazil Collection to share with you! This is the Spring/Summer Collection for this year, in addition to the 12 polishes in this post there is also a mini set with 4 liquid sand polishes I've be posting very soon! This part of the collection is made up most of cremes, I know that doesn't excite everyone but it does excite me! I always forget how much I love a good creme until it's been a while since I've had new ones to play with!

If there are any comparisons you'd like to see for this collection please leave them in the comments!

Amazon...Amazoff is a teal shimmer. I actually thought this was a creme until I started applying it. There is a super faint pearl like shimmer running throughout it. You can see it a tiny bit in my photos but in person it was very very hidden. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and nice and opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Don't Bossa Nova Me Around is a pink toned nude. I really like this one, it's a nice alternative to white and it's flattering on. The formula was good, it was a teensy bit streaky but it was very minor. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I Just Can't Cope-acabana is a yellow creme. This is nice and bright but also a bit pastel at the same time, if that makes any sense. The formula was pretty good for a yellow, there was some streakiness on the first coat but it was pretty minor and the second coat completely covered it. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I Sao Paulo Over There is a brown taupe creme. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kiss Me I'm Brazilian is a pink creme. The formula was good, it was a bit streaky on the first coat but the opacity was great and it was all evened out with the second coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Live.Love.Carnaval is a bright coral creme. This is a favorite for me, I don't think photos really do justice to how pretty this coral is. The formula was good, it was a little streaky on the first coat but perfect with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Next Stop...The Bikini Zone is a purple/grey duochrome. On it's own the formula was a bit on the sheer side but it built up to full opacity pretty easily. The duochrome isn't super strong but it's definitely visible. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Below is 1 coat of Next Stop...Bikini Zone over OPI Scores A Goal! Layering this over a dark color really helps bring the duochrome out!

OPI Scores A Goal! is a dark purple toned red creme. I don't really know what you'd call this color...raisin? Raisin sounds good lol! The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but completely opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Red Hot Rio is a red creme. The formula was good, it was a little squishy and crelly like and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Taupe-less Beach is a light grey taupe creme. This is much lighter than the previous taupe in this collection. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was great. This could be a 1 coater depending on how you polish, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Toucan Do It If You Try is a coral orange creme. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and the opacity was really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Where Did Suzi's Man-go? is a light mango orange creme. This is my personal favorite of the collection, I really enjoy this shade of orange! The formula was good, it was a great consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I really enjoyed this collection, I always love a good creme polish and this collection was definitely full of them. My picks are Where Did Suzi's Man-Go? and Live.Love.Carnaval.

Brazil by OPI will be available in both nail lacquer and GelColor formulas beginning February 5, 2014. Nail lacquers will retail for $9.00 ($10.95 CAN) each at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, jcp Salons, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, ULTA and ulta.com

  3. I was just wondering yesterday when OPI's next collection would come out! Hah! I'm always a sucker for a good teal. Otherwise, this collection doesn't call to me, but I do applaud OPI for having a collection full of less common colors. Though reds are in there, it isn't like the past where half the collection is red. Kudos for that.

  4. Gorgeous swatches, as always--thank you so much!! :) I think those last two are calling my name...

For comparisons, I can think of two: 1) Taupe-less Beach & I Sao Paulo v. Berlin There, Done That; and 2) Toucan Do It v. Are We There Yet.....but I'm sure others will think of even better ones!

I like the bright corals and oranges in this collection, but it's a shame there isn't a vibrant green in there too. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the liquid sand swatches. Thanks for the fab photos as always!

  10. I really love OPI Scores A Goal - I feel like it would look good in any season.

I can't think of any comparisons, but I'm curious if you have any other corals that are similar to Live. Love. Carnaval that have really good formulas.

Also, I'm dying to see a Skittles mani with the oranges and corals in this. =)

    Thanks for the beautiful swatches.

Thanks for the perfect swatches! I've been loving crème finishes over the past month. Of course, I still use bold colors. (A deep bright blue & a deep vibrant purple.) It's been a long time since I've worn them and, I guess I was just in a mood. lol I like your favs too. I also like the vibrant pink crème.

  35. Bikini Zone is my favorite - just not a huge cream fan.

  42. Thanks for the awesome swatches. Looking forward to comparisons. Do you have Can You Tapas This to compare to OPI scores a Goal? Or Lost on Lombard? Comet Loves Cupid to compare with Red Hot Rio?

  43. I'd love to see Where Did Suzi's Man-go? compared to Zoya Arizona if you have it. I'm thinking Where Did Suzi's Man-go is a bit lighter and more creamsicle looking?

  44. I'm wondering how the purple depth in NSTBZ is compared to Peace Love and OPI, if it's lighter or darker. Also might just have to pick up I Sao Paulo Over There since I love that shade. It looks pretty close to CG's Foie Gras--I never bought that one since I can't get over the name--yuck!

  46. I've been stalking your blog waiting for this post! haha…
I'd be interested in any of the following comparisons: Amazon..Amazoff with China Glaze Exotic Encounters, I Just Can't Cope-acabana with OPI Needs Sunglasses and The "It" Colour (and any other similar yellows from CG), both the light and dark taupe - light with chinchilly and dark with the other opi taupes - You Don't Know Jaques etc… and finally Kiss Me I'm Brazillian with ALL the other OPI pinks! haha… The new Gwen one, Elephantastic Pink.. Whatever your nails can handle would be much appreciated. Thank you for all your hard work. You are my go-to resource for all my nail needs. I always wait till you've swatched collections before I buy! :)
