NYFW: Nicole Miller Runway Nails Recreation

Hi guys, hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was pretty good, I had a ton of fun during the NailGlossip chat on twitter last night! If you guys are on twitter and haven't joined us for that you're missing out! During the chat Michelle from All Lacquered Up challenged us to recreate one of the manis from the runway of fashion week. There was a ton to choose from, a lot of moon mani's and metallic nails. I must have spent a good hour looking through photos to find one to try to recreate. Originally I was going to go with the nails OPI did for the Degen show...if only because the designer is called Degen. But they were all kinds of fantastical rainbow nail art and it was a big mess when I tried lol!

I ended up going with a gorgeous look Katie Jane Hughes of Butter London created for the Nicole Miller runway. Katie actually did a few different designs, all gorgeous, for Nicole Miller but a red and black mani she did really caught my eye. The mani was meant to give a textured, feathered, look to compliment the collection. You can see the inspiration at the end of the post! Katie used Butter London Union Jack (mattified) and then used a striping brush with Knees Up to created a feathered look.

Since I unfortunately don't own either of those polishes I used Dance Legend Nox as my base and OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress for my feathered look. I mattified the whole thing with OPI's Matte Top Coat. I believe on the runway only the black was matte but I quite like the whole thing matte so it's my little twist on the look.

Here is a photo of the nails from the Nicole Miller show. I love the look and it's super easy to do!
