Milani Spring 2014 Gold Label Nail Lacquer Swatches

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was good...didn't really do much since it was raining here most of the time. I did finally go through my closet and I managed to get rid of 2 1/2 trash bags full of clothes. I'll probably take them over to the local women's shelter later this week.

Today I have the new Gold Label Nail Lacquers for Spring from Milani. These are 6 cremes and 6 glitters. I was pretty darn excited about them when they arrived in the mail, the glitters looked all kinds of fantastical. They are all glitters I feel like we'd see from indie brands, I love that a drugstore brand is making them available to people who may not even know what an indie brand is. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Colorful Coral is an orange leaning coral creme. The formula was good, it was a great consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Popping Pink is a bright pink creme. This is walking the line of being neon but it's not quite there. The formula was good, it was a touch thick but in a good way that made it easy to apply.  I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Power Periwinkle is a blue leaning periwinkle creme. The formula was nice, it was a good consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Showy Sea-Green is a green creme. The formula was again, good. I loved the consistency and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Splendid Strawberry is a dark pink creme. The formula, consistency and opacity were all good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Sugar Burst is various sizes and shapes of light pink glitter with a little sprinkle of hex glitter in a clear base. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Splendid Strawberry for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sugar Cane is magenta and purple bar glitter along with various sizes of matte white hex glitter in a clear base. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was great. I used 2 coats over Vivid Violet for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sugar High is a mixture of various colors of small matte hex glitter in a clear base. I see mostly dark & light blue, peach and dark magenta glitter but there may be a few other colors in there. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 2 coats over Popping Pink for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sugar Rim is much like Sugar High except with different colors and a tiny bit of small silver shards. This is my favorite glitter of the collection, I love the slightly bigger blue glitters in this. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 2 coats over Power Periwinkle for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sugar Rush is light green, orange, white and silver holographic hex glitter in a clear base. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was good. I used 2 coats over Colorful Coral for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Sugar Coated is light green glitter in various sizes & shapes along with a sprinkle of holo glitter in a clear base. The formula was again, good...not thick and the glitter payoff was great. I used 1 coat over Showy Sea-Green for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade
Vivid Violet is a lavender creme. This was a bit brighter in person, I'm sure you guys all know that purples are a bit difficult to photograph :( The formula was good, it was a good consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I'm a big fan of this collection, the cremes are all gorgeous colors and would be good if you don't already have something like them in your collection. All the glitters are fun and I love seeing glitters like these in the drugstores. My picks are Showy Sea-Green,  Sugar High and Sugar Rim.

The Gold Label Nail Lacquers from Milani should be available in drugstores now, they retail for $4.69.

I really like the Sugar High, Sugar Rim, and Sugar Rush. I don't think I can decide on a favorite among the cremes. I like them all lol. I believe we don't have this brand in the Netherlands. So I'll be looking for them elsewhere.

  5. Reminds me of confetti! I think the only place I've been able to find them is at Superstore so maybe I'll drop by and see if they have them cause I kinda want that Sugar High hahaha

Gorgeous! I noticed a while back Milani had revamped their polish line. Not surprised you gave them great reviews. I've got a slew of their polishes (some several years old) and they've always been one of my favorite and recommended drugstore brands! :)

  11. I love this collection. I have been trying to be more moderate in my polish purchases, however, so I only bought a few. I got Sugar Cane, Sugar High and Sugar Rim. I really like the cremes, but I feel like I probably have dupes for them in my collection already.

  12. Woah, I am so glad I googled Napa Cabernet because it looks completely different here- I really dislike it when they don't disclose that it's supposed to be worn as a topper- there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a topper polish (I like it as it saves on the polish haha) but it's really dodgy to post pics like the ones I saw on the site compared to the reality :\
Thanks for doing such a great job with your swatches too <3
