Hi guys! Today I have the Awaken Collection from Zoya for Spring 2014 to share with you. This collection is all kinds of perfect for Spring, full of shimmers and cremes in a nice almost pastel palette! I was excited about this collection mostly because 3 of the shimmers are similar in finish to one of my favorite Zoya polishes, Zuza, and they didn't disappoint! As always, if there are any comparisons you'd like to see for this collection let me know in the comments! Check out all the swatches after the jump!
Brooklyn is described by Zoya as a full coverage white-gold metallic shimmer. I didn't think I'd like this based on gold not usually working on my skin tone but this one is nice and it looks pretty ok on me! It does show some brushstrokes but they weren't as apparent in person as they are in photos. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Cole is a peachy orange creme, a bit of a creamsicle kind of shade. I love oranges like this, I find that they are easy to wear and they work with my ghostly-ness. The formula was a bit challenging, it was streaky and I had some issues with it wanting to even out. I ended up using 2 thin coats and a thick 3 coat to get it looking good
Dillon is a light minty green shimmer. This is like the light minty version of Zuza. The formula was ok, it was a bit sheer but it was easy to build. I used 3 coats for the photos below.
Dot is a light pink creme. The formula was also challenging on this one, it was sheer and streaky. I ended up needing 4 coats to get it opaque and even.
Hudson is a light/medium dusty purple shimmer. The formula was good, it was a little thick but in a good way that made application easy. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Overall I like this collection, it definitely makes me think of Spring! My picks are Dillon, Hudson and Rebel!
