Different Dimension Spring 2014 Collection Swatches

Hi guys! Today I have the gorgeous Spring 2014 Collection from Different Dimension to share with you. The collection launches tomorrow at 7pm est over on the Different Dimension shop. This collection has a little something for everyone, there are shimmers, holos, glitters and even a couple thermals. I'm not sure if Missi has done thermals before but it's the first time I've tried any from her so I was most excited about those (and they didn't let me down! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Dewing It Right is a sky blue with a pinky orange shimmer. The shimmer is a bit on the subtle side but it was easily visible out it the sun. The formula was good, it was a little patchy but that was easy to cover and I had no issues with application. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Garden Goddess is a blue holo. This blue has a lot more green undertones than Dewing It Right. The holo was also a bit more apparent in person than it's looking in photos. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Gasoline Rainbows is a black holo. The holo is this was crazy awesome, I walked outside and it was rainbows everywhere! The formula was good, it was nice and opaque and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Have A Grape Day is a purple/blue thermal with a gorgeous shimmer. This is my favorite of the collection, I really enjoy the color shift and the contrasting shimmer is what puts it over the top for me. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer but easy to build. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Orchid You Not is a orchid holo. The holo was stronger in person than it photographs! The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Petal'd is a pastel circle glitter topper in a holo shimmer base. This looks good over anything, I loved it over white but just couldn't get it to photograph that way :( The formula was good, the glitter payoff was good and the formula was easy to work with. I used 1 coat over Dance Legend Nox for the photos below.

That's Just Ducky is a yellow holo. I really like this one, the shade of yellow is interesting and I always am a fan of that! The holo was more apparent in person than photos for this one also. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and nice and opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Grass Isn't Always Greener is a green to yellow thermal with a golden shimmer. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer but easy to build. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Tulips Are Better Than One is a purple base with a strong teal/aqua shimmer. This is the star of the collection in my opinion. My photos don't do it much justice, it's so much prettier in person! The formula was good but a bit sheer, it does build up without any issues but for future I'll probably layer it over a dark purple base. I used 3 coats for the photos below, the photos are under lamp light...the sun/shade was just not cooperating with me for this one!

Overall I really like this collection, there are a lot of interesting shades and I love the variety of finishes. My picks are Have A Grape Day, Tulips Are Better Than One and That's Just Ducky!

The Different Dimension Spring 2014 Collection will be available on the Different Dimension etsy tomorrow at 7pm est. You can also find their polishes at several etailers listed below.

  5. What a fun collection! I love the orchid holo.

  6. Just plain gorgeousness! That Tulips Are Better Than One - be still, my beating heart!

I didn't know this brand, but I like it.

  9. So, how do thermals work? I've never heard of them before, but I assume that you didn't have to do anything special to get the ombre affect? Thanks!

  10. I can't answer the question about shelf life, sorry. I didn't do anything special for the photos, that's how they look on me all the time

  11. I love pretty much all of these but my wallet told me I could only have one... So I got Tulips

  12. Tulips Are Better Than One is gorgeous! Does look like it might be a bit an RBL Scangie-alike. Maybe if layered over a grape creme, since this base looks a bit sheerer? Also the shimmer looks more plentiful in this one -- and maybe a bit more blue than teal. Any chance of a comparison post?

  13. I don't own RBL Scrangie anymore so I really can't say for sure how close they are. I think that this one is much more shimmery and the color shift is more extreme than I remember Scrangie being.

  14. Well, I never managed to snag Scrangie 1.0, so I think Tulips just might have to become mine. Lemming beaten - now with more shimmer and shift! :D
