Funky Fingers Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have 3 polishes from Funky Fingers to share with you! Funky Fingers is only sold at Five Below which is a store over in the mid-west/east coast (?) of the US. While I was in Ohio for work a couple weeks ago my co-worker and I ended up stopping by Five Below on our way to find somewhere to eat for dinner. Let me tell you, I was SO excited...more than someone should be about any store haha! We don't have Five Below in So Cal so I can't get Funky Fingers polishes unless I swap with someone who lives near a Five Below. I only ended up picking up 3 polishes (they were 3 for $5...what a deal!), I would have bought more but I was traveling with only a carry on so I could only buy what I could fit in with my liquid stuff for the way home.

Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Glitter Explains It All is blue, green, yellow and white matte glitter in a clear base. Lets face it, I bought this for the name (and I love matte glitter). I'm fairly certain this is named for Clarissa Explains It All which was like my favorite show ever when I was a kid. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and the glitter was easy to get out and onto the nail. I used 1 coat over Let The Beat Drop for the photos below.

Let The Beat Drop is a purple toned blue with a subtle pink/purple shimmer. This one really called my name in store, I love shimmers like this. I also think the name is a nod to the Beastie Boys which is always a good thing in my opinion. The shimmer is pretty subtle unless you're out in the sun but the base is a pretty color no matter what lighting you're in. The formula was good but a bit sheer, it was easy to apply and built up to full opacity easily. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Saved By The Glitter is white, pink and blue matte glitter in a clear base. This is another that I was quickly drawn to, I'm sure I have an indie version of this somewhere but I don't even care...I love the color combo. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and it was easy to get good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over China Glaze Feel The Breeze for the photos below.

Funky Fingers polishes are available at Five Below stores, they are 3 for $5! I believe Funky Fingers are made by the same company that makes Color Club so there might be dupes across the brands if you also don't have access to these.

  1. Wow, that is weird, I live near Cincinnati, OH and have never heard of Five Below! To my knowledge we don't have one around here. I know you said you were in Cleveland for work. It's funny how, even within states, different regions have different stores. These are neat polishes. Now I wish I had a store near me!

  2. All three of these colors if I'm not mistaken line up with colors from the Color Club Poptastic Remix collection. Those are literally the three color club polishes I bought yesterday from Meijer. That being said I'm in Ohio, anything funky fingers you ever want let me know! Happy to get some to you!

Man I am in love with saved by the glitter (the combo you did was spectacular), hopefully I can find a Color club dupe, or just anything similar. Funky fingers seems like an awesome brand :)

  7. I looooove polishes like Let the Beat Drop....I'm sure I have a few dupes of it and I'd still buy that one. Luckily I am in central Ohio, so have a few options in town...

Right Megan! Also did you notice the Studio M line (formerly Massini) of cosmetics that Meijer carries are the same? I'm 99.9% sure at least the nail polishes are Color Club rebottled; they don't even bother changing the polish names for the repackaging! And the price can't be beat--$2.99 each (cheaper on sale). So Jen or whoever--if you ever find yourself in Meijer territory check them out. Besides being great stores overall their cosmetics section is fantastic! :)

  9. Yes! I noticed that with the studio m polishes. Out of all the grocery like stores in Central Ohio where I'm at Meijers is hands down the best! Their polish selection for a grocery store is on point.

  10. There is a 5below about 5 minutes from my house and I drop in regularly not only for polish but for cheap, funky iPhone cases! I picked-up both the glitters last month and agree the formula is fantastic. They ARE made by Forsythe Cosmetics, who make Color Club, and sometimes the Funky Fingers actually are the same as some of the Color Clubs.
