PaintFab by JustFab Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have swatches of a few PaintFab polishes for you. PaintFab is a new brand made by JustFab, I'm sure you've heard of them right? If not they are known for their shoes, I've never bought anything from them but I've heard about them all over Youtube and the like. They just recently branched out into polish with a a bunch of core shades of polish along with some seasonal duos. The polishes I have for you are all from the core line, check out all the swatches after the jump!

Auber-Genius is a dark blackened purple base with a purple shimmer. The shimmer while gorgeous when the sun hits it right is pretty hidden in most lighting. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lass With Sass is a milky light pink. This isn't normally a shade I'd go for but I really loved it on, it's a great palette cleanses and it looks so clean on the nail. The formula was good, it was a touch thick but in a good way, I had no issues with application. This was on the sheer side but buildable, I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Modern Mauvels is a mauve pink creme. Again not a color I'd normally go for but it's flattering on and I think it would be a pretty  base for glitters. The formula was good, it had a nice consistency and was easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Neutral Territory is a yellow toned nude creme. This isn't a good neutral for my skin tone but it'll look nice on others. The formula was good, I had no issues with it being streaky and it was easy to work with. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Penny For Your Thoughts is a dark brown with a coppery brown shimmer. The shimmer is also pretty hidden in this one but out in the sun it's gorgeous. This is one of my favorites in the collection, I am always a sucker for a good brown. The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Pink Slip Me A Drink is a bright pink creme. The formula was good, I had no issues with the application and the opacity was nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Red Hot Mama is a classic red creme. Again this had a nice formula, the consistency was good and application was easy. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Vixen Fixin' is a burgundy shimmer. This leans a little towards being a frost but it's not that bad kinda frosty that looks streaky and shows brush strokes. The formula was ok, I did have some issues with it wanting to pool in the cuticle but I think with thinner coats that wouldn't be an issue. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I liked these polishes, I know I've seen some not so great reviews about the brushes and formulas but I can't say that I experienced any issues in those departments. I quite like the brushes PaintFab uses, they are wide but not as wide as the OPI Prowide brush. I was also sent the 2-in-1 base and top coat to try and I have to say I am not a fan of it, as a base coat my polish didn't wear well and as a top coat it caused the polish to peel off in sheets so it would get a pass from me.

PaintFab polishes are available on the JustFab website, you do have to have an account but it's free and takes only a couple minutes to set up. They are located under the accessories tab...I'm telling you that  because I had a hell of a time finding them haha! The bottles are a bit on the small side but the price is in line with that so I don't mind it. Single polishes retail for $5.95 and duos are $9.95.

  3. I had heard the formula was awful on these too, but you make them look gorgeous and there was something wrong with a previous release?
