Scofflaw Summer 2014 Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have the new summer collection from Scofflaw to share with you! The collection is made up of 8 polishes and a new duo. I really love the color palette, there are nice shades for summer along with a few that will transition really nicely into fall. The collection has a mix of really nice glitter and interesting shimmers! These will be available to buy over at http://www.scofflawvarnish.com on July 27th at Noon CST. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Aeroplane Over The Sea is a blue jelly loaded with green shimmer and green and charcoal glitter. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and nicely pigmented. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Arcane Sugar is a mint green base with peach, orange, and copper glitter along with a peach and green shimmer. This is one of my favorites in the collection, it's such an interesting mix of colors that I feel like I haven't seen before. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Blind Tiger is an orange creme with a golden shimmer. This is much more orange in person than in my photos, my camera has issues with only seeing red when trying to capture orange :(  The formula was great, it was a good consistency and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Cherry Nova is a cherry red with red and blue shimmer. The shimmer is much more noticeable in person, because the red is so saturated its a bit hard to capture with a camera. The formula was fantastic and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats for the photos below, the 2nd coat was hardly needed.

Jabberwocky is a dark purple base with blue shimmer and sapphire, white and purple glitter. I like how opaque the base is but it doesn't hide the glitter or shimmer at all. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Love Goat is a dark taupe base with rainbow shimmer, flecks and flakes along with a little touch of holo for good measure. This is another favorite, a good neutral with a touch of excitement! The formula was good, it was a little bit sheer on the first coat but completely opaque with the 2nd coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Love Letter To Mr Rogers is a dark green base with multicolored shimmer and gold flakes of shimmer. Clearly a favorite, not only is it green but its got all kinds of awesome shimmer to boot. Also, the name is awesome...I loved Mr Rogers when I was a kid lol! The formula was good, it was a really nice consistency and application was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Unicorn On The Cob is a soft yellow base with gold flecks and blue shimmer. It also has carmel and lavender glitter. Another total winner of a name, how could you not like something called Unicorn On The Cob? Each Scofflaw polish has a cute picture on the bottom label to go with the polish and the one for this is a unicorn with a corn cob as a horn, I pretty much died when I saw it haha! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. I really loved how non-streaky the yellow was. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Next up is the duo of the collection, it consists of a shimmery base and a glitter topper. Both are gorgeous and the glitter will look good over pretty much anything!

Atomic Poodle is a peachy pink base with with a subtle silver shimmer. The shimmer is subtle but easily visible out in the sunlight. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and not streaky...the opacity was also really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

We Were Promised Jetpacks is a blue and white glitter topper. There is also kinds of glitter in here, starts, circles, hex, even triangle glitter. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and application was easy. The glitter payoff was great, no dabbing needed. I used 1 coat over Atomic Poodle for the photos below.

  1. Really? I own a 2013 Ford Mustang in race red and I am very disappointed in the colour match. The polish is very orange and the colour of my car does not have any orange undertones.

I wonder how similar Girls Love Pink Ponies is to Strawberry Margarita. A couple of others have mentioned the black looking like Black Satin and I must agree, I have that and wear it every now and then. I love The Sky's My Limit, that might be the only one I need. That orange-red would look terrible against my super pale skin tone.

  7. Totally agree! I haven't bought any new ones lately since I already have similar colors - especially the pinks.

Really? In all the promotional information I read, it was supposed to be an exact match. My Mustang is black, so I can't really speak to their matching as well as you can. That's sad to hear!

  9. I finally found The Sky's My Limit at Kroger (grocery store!), of all places! Although I'm relatively late commenting, I think it's different enough from the Catch Charla in Your Comet clones to justify owning both (or all!), lol! :) it's a finer gold shimmer, and the base appears to be much more true blue than teal, to my eye. Can't comment on staining yet, but good gawd you're right about the other's! Eek! At any rate, just wanted to give my 2 cents, as you purged your stash of the dupey stainers. :D

  10. I think the red is more like the 40th anniversary red. It is pretty spot on to my son's stang.
