Finger Paints Film Noir Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was really nice, exhausting but nice. Yesterday my cousin had her engagement party and it was a blast, my face actually hurt when I got home because of how much I laughed! Today I have the Finger Paints Film Noir Collection to share with you. This collection is made up of 3 cremes and glitter, all 4 polishes dry to a matte finish. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise for all 3 cremes I had slight issues, they were all a bit thick and patchy. They reminded me a bit of the polishes from the China Glaze City Flourish Collection, except a little easier to work with. These did dry a bit lumpy looking but you could probably fix that by using a layer of matte top coat over them once they dry...then they keep the finish but it evens it out a little bit. I used 3 coats for all 3 cremes to even them out.

Beautiful Mystery is a light grey blue creme.

Film Noir is a dark burgundy purple. I was kind of surprised by how dark this ended up being on the nail since it looked much lighter in the bottle.

Hollywood Decadence is a milky matte glitter made up of blue, pink and gold glitter in a slightly pink base. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the glitter coverage was good, I used 3 coats for the photos below. Depending on how thick you polish and how the glitter ends up on the nail you might be able to get away with 2 coats.

  1. They're very film noir! How is removal on the glitter? Typically difficult, or easier because of the matte base?

  7. Hollywood Decadence really reminds me of More than a Glimmer, the OPI matte glitter that was in the Pink of Hearts breast cancer set last year. I don't think it's a dupe (More than a Glimmer seems to have more pink glitter), but it's a similar feel.

Great swatches as always. Yours always seem the most accurate to the polishes I actually get, so thanks!

  9. ive been wanting to try the big glitter toppers! if theyre a bit base heavy like you say, try painting the polish onto a makeup wedge to absorb the extra base, then apply it to your nails. the sponge absorbs just enough to make it easier to work with, but leaves enough to stick the glitter to your nails without a bunch of dry time!

  10. Oh wow, I'm so happy I saw this post! I saw these just a day ago but I didn't realize they were matte so I passed them by. I'll have to take a closer look at them next time I go to Sally Beauty!
