Dance Legend Rio Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have a Dance Legend Collection for ya! The collection is called Rio and it's made up of 6 glitter toppers. All of the glitters are nice and bright, they are made up of matte neon square, hex and star glitter! I really like glitters like this, they are usually pretty easy to layer over anything and they are fun for Summer! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise it was consistent across all 6. They are packed with glitter but I found all of them to be a bit heavy on base which can make application tricky. I found the best way to apply these was the blob and spread aka get a lot of glitter on the brush and put a blob of it on your nail then spread the glitter around. Even doing that I did have to go back and fish for a little bit more glitter, I mostly just did that by wiping my brush on the inside neck of the bottle and grabbing the glitter there, it was easiest for me. Even though application was a little tricky I really like the results so I don't mind it!

Also, these don't seem to have names...just numbers!

1 is a mix of neon yellow, green, pink, orange and blue glitter in a slightly yellow tinted base. Over anything other than white I don't think you'd notice the slight yellow tint to the base. I used 1 over Cirque Carpe Diem.

2 is neon green and yellow glitter in a clear base. I used this over Essie Take It Outside.

3 is green, yellow, pink, blue and orange square glitter in a clear base. I used this over Cirque Momento Mori. Apologies for only 1 photo, I had 2 more in the shade but they were corrupted when I went to edit them :(

4 is neon pink glitter in a clear base. I used this over Essie Partner In Crime. Ugh, I love brown and pink together :D

5 is green, pink, blue and yellow glitter in a clear base. This is very similar to 1, its just missing the orange glitter. So if you don't like orange get this one instead haha! I used 5 over Essie The Perfect Cover Up.

6 is bright blue glitter in a clear base. I used this over Essie Style Cartel. I am obsessed with this combo, the blue on blue is just doing it for me right now. The glitter looks like its swimming, almost a jelly sandwich without doing a jelly sandwich.

Dance Legend is available at http://dance-legend.com/. If you order direct the polishes ship from Russia and take can 6-8 weeks (or more) to arrive...it's something to be aware of! Luckily if you don't want to wait for that long you can order from several etailers including Llarowe and several other places you can find listed on the Dance Legend home page!

I think this collection was made for me, neon glitter is my life. Your swatches are of course perfect, I think 5 and 2, 3 and 6 are my favourites :)

  7. I love stars, but there's something really cool about star-less #3.... it looks like confetti :)

  10. How do you get the star glitters to lay flat? I have no luck with them and they are like little sharp daggers poking up everywhere.

  11. I didn't have any issues with them sticking up...maybe a couple coats of top coat?
