Serum No. 5 FW14 Part 2 Collection Swatches, Review & Giveaway!

Hi guys! Today I have the 2nd half of Serum No. 5's FW14 Collection to share with you! This half includes 4 new duochrome shimmers that glow in the dark! Along with the 4 new shades Victoria is also bringing back last years Breast Cancer Awareness polish for October and she has a new set of Cut It Out Nail Vinyls themed for Halloween being released! Everything is coming out today over at SerumNo5.com!

Just to top it all off I have an awesome giveaway for the 2nd half of the collection for ya at the very end of the post! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Beam Me Up is a dark gold with a heavy pink shimmer that glows green in the dark. The formula was good, it shows a little bit of visible nail line in photos but I couldn't see it in person. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

shade

Dark Matter is a brown base with orange and pink shimmer that glows green in the dark. This is my favorite of the new shades, I love how it looks in every light, especially the shade! The formula was good, it was a touch sheer but easy to build and opaque in 3 coats.

Shade

Galactic Rainbow is a light brown base with purple/purple shimmer that glows dark blue/purple in the dark. The glow was a hard one to capture in photos for some reason! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the consistency was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Light Speed is a grey base with heavy blue shimmer, it glows aqua in the dark! The formula was good, a touch sheer but easy to build and opaque in 3 coats.

Pink Lantern is a pink creme that glows orange in the dark. This polish is a re-release that will only be available for October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. The formula is good, it's easy to apply and the consistency is good. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

In addition to the new polishes Serum No. 5 is also coming out with a new sheet of Cut It Out Nail Vinyls called Bewitched. All of the designs are Halloween themed with bats, witch hats, moon & stars and chevrons! I used them as stencils for my mani below with Light Speed and Dance Legend Nox! I think these are fun for the season and look awesome glowing in the dark!

All of the polishes & nail vinyls in this post will be available today at www.serumno5.com!

  1. When taking off vinyls when you've used it as a stencil, is it best to take it off when the nail polish still wet or dry?

  2. Great swatches & I totally need those nail vinyls now! Since you asked, I think I prefer rafflecopter, I love the look of this widget but it won't allow me to do the 'like on facebook' entry without giving it the access to my public profile, email address, friends list and likes :(

  3. Hmm I like the look of the Rafflecopter widget better but I think thats just cause i'm so used to it. The Gleam widget definitely seems easier. It pretty much does everything for you. No copying and pasting URL's or typing your info over and over.

  7. I agree, I like the look of Rafflecopter but Gleam seems like it has so many more options and its easier with things like Instagram to enter!

  8. Cool, thanks for the feedback! I didn't know it made you give them access to do those entries!

  9. They should be taken off while the polish is still wet so the lines are crisp!

  12. I love these nail vinyls, but how do you get the little ones (bat, star) off your nails without damaging your manicure? I use a tweezers and always end up nicking the underlying polish. Does it just take a careful hand and patience?

  13. The Serum No. 5 ones come in little squares so you can peel the box off and then take the shape out and use the square as the stencil...I'm sure that makes no sense lol. You can see what I mean on the Serum No. 5 site: http://serumno5.com/product/bewitched-cut-it-out-nail-vinyls/

  15. I like the Rafflecopter widget better. This one makes you give Gleam access to your profile on Facebook and Instagram :/
