Zoya MatteVelvet Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the Zoya MatteVelvet Collection to share with you! These are some of my favorite Zoya's, some of the first ever bought from them actually. For a while these were discontinued and then Zoya brought back a few...well now they have brought all of them back! If you are a fan of polishes like the OPI Suede line these are right up your alley! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Formula wise all 6 were good across the board, they have nice formulas that are easy to control and all are nice and opaque. You do have to be careful to not go over spots too many times or you can end up with bald spots. These dry down to a matte finish pretty quickly. Because of the matte finish they are more prone to chipping than regular polish but even with that I still get 3-4 days of wear before I can't stand the tip wear any more. I used 2 coats of polish for all 6 shades below.

Dovima is a dark charcoal black with silver shimmer. In the sun and bright lighting it leans more grey and in the shade and lower lighting it tends to look more black.

Shade

Harlow is a pink toned plum with silver shimmer.

Shade

Loredana is a gunmetal grey with silver shimmer.

Shade

Posh is a cool toned red. This is one of my favorites with top coat!

Shade

Savita is a bright medium purple with red and gold shimmer.

Shade

Veruschka is a deep evergreen with silver shimmer. This is one of the first Zoya's I ever got in one of their Earth Day promos like 4 or 5 years ago...I think its what started my love of green polish!

The MatteVelvet polishes are available now at Zoya.com. Each polish retails for $9. They also have introduced a MatteVelvet Top Coat that you can get for $10, I haven't tried it yet but I want to!

  4. I never thought I would like matte polish but I gave it a try and LOVE the look. I have Harlow on right now and like it a lot...next is Posh. They don't recommend a base/top coat though and a lot of people have complained about shortened wear. What's been your experience on the wear time?

  5. I got the matte topcoat during a promo at Ulta, and I am not disappointed! I tend to be more of a shiny topcoat girl, but I just put this over India, and it is simply amazing. It really does make it look like there is velvet on my nails. i would definitely recommend it!
