A England Elizabeth and Mary Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Sorry for the lack of a post yesterday, I had everything all edited and ready to write and post but then I just didn't have time to actually write up the post. My weekend was insane running here there and everywhere trying to get stuff done at my condo and whatnot. Unfortunately I found roaches in my condo (super yuck) so that was pretty much what took up my entire Sunday...after my initial melt down (like literally ran out screaming then shed a few tears lol) about it I got a pest control company to come out and assess the issue. Long story short they are coming out to exterminate the monsters on Wednesday then I have a guy coming over to seal up any crack they can possibly come through to get back in. Roaches seriously gross me out so hopefully after Wednesday I'll never see another one again! Apparently problems like this are common in apartments and condos...I had no idea about that until yesterday haha.

Anyway...today I have a gorgeous new A England Collection to share with you. The Elizabeth and Mary Collection brings up 5 new shades from A England. I was pretty excited about these when I heard of a new collection...I always look forward to new A England polishes because 99% of the time the formulas are flawless. That was very much the case with these, almost all of them were 1 coaters! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Crown of Thistles is a purple with a subtle holo. The holo is pretty subtle but when the light hits your nail at the right angle it comes out really nice. The formula was fantastic, it was easy to apply and opaque in 1 coat.

Fotheringhay Castle is an olive green with a gold shimmer and subtle holo. The formula was great on this one too, nearly a 1 coater for me. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Gloriana is a red foil/shimmer with golden flakes of glitter. The formula was a touch thick but in a good way that made application easy. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Shade

Queen of Scots is a blackened blue base with blue shimmer. In the bottle the shimmer looked like it had a little duochrome to it but I couldn't see it on the nail. The formula was fantastic, another 1 coater!

Virgin Queen is an interesting shade, it's kind of a tarnished gold with a subtle holo. Hard to describe but very pretty! The formula was again fantastic, easy to apply with perfect opacity. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

  1. Fotheringhay Castle is really calling out to me!

And if I found out I had roaches in my new home I'd react the same way. Bugs (especially roaches) give me the uber heebiejeebies!

  4. I love Crown of Thistles. Poor Mary got a bum deal, and did you know she carried her little dog with her to her execution to give her courage?
