Formula X Press Pods Review

Happy Friday! Today I have a little review of the Press Pods from Formula X to share with you. I saw these online a while back and my initial thought was those are weird...and expensive. I ended up stopping by Sephora over the weekend and saw them in store and well curiosity got the best of me and they ended up coming home with me.

Press Pods are tiny 1 use "pods" of Formula X polish. They would be perfect for taking along on a trip, that's most likely what I'll end up using them for. They are so small that it would be good if you're traveling with only a carry on and have limited space in your bag for liquids. There is enough polish in each pod for a full mani and pedi....if you have extra long nails I'm not sure that you would be able to get both a mani & pedi, but for me I was able to and I had polish left over.

Below is what the package looks like, it contains 24 Press Pods in a variety of colors and finishes. It's a really nice sampling of the range of shades that Formula X offers. On the back of the box is instructions for how to use the pods.

This is how the tray looks once you take it out of the box. The plastic is not one you have to cut open and it seals back up so you can just take the 1 you want out then put this back in the box if that's how you wanted to store these.

Below is the pod, as you can see it has a little twisty top on the end. You twist that off and it reveals the brush used to apply the polish. When I posted the set on Instagram the other day Laura suggested on twitter that I massage the brush before using it because that makes it easier to work with. The brush is a little stiff so that was a great...and helpful suggestion that I would definitely say is a "must" if you get these.

On the bottom of each pod is the name of the polish. I like that they did this, it's nice if you decide you like the color enough to pick it up in full size. The polish I used for this post was Unmistakable.

Here is the brush once you twist off the top. Like I said before it's a little stiff so massaging it does help. It's still not the easiest brush to use but I can't say that I really expected it to be given how small it is.

Here is my mani with the pod, as you can probably tell, the color the polish looked in the pod isn't actually how it looked on the nail. I don't know if that will be the case with all the pods or if I just happened to get the 1 that looks different pod to nail. I've actually swatched this shade before (see that post here) and in the full size bottle the polish translates to the nail as it looks in the bottle.

I did have some issues with application...there is a learning curve with these. You have to squeeze out more polish than you think you actually need or else the brush drags it off because of how stiff it is. I found that led to getting the polish all pooled at my cuticles...easy enough to clean up but I don't imagine a normal consumer is going to A. know that "clean up" is a thing and B. will want to take the time since they will probably be using a product like this on the go or on vacation.

I ended up using 3 coats to get the polish even, in comparison to the 2 coats I needed with the regular full sized bottle of this polish. The photo below is in natural sunlight. Check out the post I linked above for a better swatch of this shade.

Overall I'm kind of torn on these. I think they are great for travel and I will definitely be using the other 23 for that somewhere down the road. However, I find that they are a little hard to use and if given the choice I'd use my regular sized polish before grabbing for these. I actually don't think the price is that bad for these, $39 for 24 pods...considering you can get a full mani and pedi out of a pod the price doesn't seem too crazy to me. Would I buy these again...no probably not, but they might be great for other people. I don't think someone like me with a bajillion bottles of polish is really who Formula X is trying to reach with these to be honest. Lets face it, I would sacrifice other liquids to fit a bottle of nail polish into my carry on if it came down to it lol!

The Formula X Press Pods set is available at Sephora and on Sephora.com for $39

Funky Fingers Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have 3 polishes from Funky Fingers to share with you! Funky Fingers is only sold at Five Below which is a store over in the mid-west/east coast (?) of the US. While I was in Ohio for work a couple weeks ago my co-worker and I ended up stopping by Five Below on our way to find somewhere to eat for dinner. Let me tell you, I was SO excited...more than someone should be about any store haha! We don't have Five Below in So Cal so I can't get Funky Fingers polishes unless I swap with someone who lives near a Five Below. I only ended up picking up 3 polishes (they were 3 for $5...what a deal!), I would have bought more but I was traveling with only a carry on so I could only buy what I could fit in with my liquid stuff for the way home.

Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Today I have a polish from Different Dimension called Pelican Village to share with you. This polish is exclusive to the June A Box Indied available at Llarowe. A Box Indied for June 2014 will be available at Llarowe.com on Monday May26th! For more updates about the availability check out the Llarowe Facebook Page.

Finger Paints Pop Movement Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I am flying home, yay! Cleveland ended up being much more fun than I could have ever expected. The training conference I went to for work was great and getting to have dinner with Ana from Lac Attack and Michelle from All Lacquered Up was so fantastic! I'm excited to get home though, I miss my bed...and Degen. I don't actually get to see Degen until tomorrow unfortunately, he's been boarded while I've been gone and my plane lands tonight after the place he goes closes so I won't get to pick him up until tomorrow.  I'm sad about it but I'm sure he's not. He LOVES the place I board him, I'm pretty sure he gets all kinds of snuggles 24/7 so it's like his little heaven haha!

Anyway, today I have the Pop Movement Collection from Finger Paints to share with you. This collection is in stores at Sally Beauty right now, I *think* it might be LE for May so if you want these you better go grab them quick! The Collection is made up of 3 cremes and 3 matte glitters! I love seeing fun glitters like these in stores where they are easily accessible to people! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Nails Inc Portobello Gardens

Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for you, mostly because I procrastinated like a boss and forgot to schedule posts for this week while I'm out of town. Because of that I'm writing this while I'm super tired after a long day of travel. Today I have a whole bunch of training stuff for work then I'm going out to dinner with Michelle from All Lacquered Up and Brooke from Blushing Noir, I am SO excited! It's so crazy to me that because of blogging I can visit somewhere on the other side of the US and have friends to meet up with!

Todays post is Nails Inc Portobello Gardens. I picked this up a couple weeks ago at Ulta. I had no idea that Ulta even carried the brand now but there was a cute little display by the register and I couldn't resist! Portobello Gardens is a glitter topper full of matte blue, white and green glitter along with royal blue regular glitter. The mix is really gorgeous and it will look great over a variety of base colors. The formula was good, a little thick b

Portobello Gardens over KBShimmer Let's Not Coral- good great glitter coverage 1 coat

Nails Inc is available at Sephora and Ulta in the US!

Essie Neon 2014 Too Taboo Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the Essie Neons for 2014, I believe this collection is called Too Taboo, that's what the display said anyway! I bought these the other day at my local nail supply after waffling about getting them. I've seen a few reviews and most of them said the formula was pretty terrible for most of these so I was all set to not get them, then I went and saw them in person and my self control went out the window and I bought them all. Luckily I didn't think the formulas were that bad so I'm glad I got them! If there are any comparisons you'd like to see for these make sure to leave them in the comment section. Check out all the swatches & reviews after the jump!

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was nice,  relaxing but productive. I got a ton of stuff I've been meaning to do done which is always a nice! Today I have a quick post for you featuring Dance Legend Top Prismatic. Top Prismatic is a holographic topper, you can add it on top  of any shade to give it a gorgeous holo. The holo is nice and strong, because of that it goes affect the shade of your base color but it's worth it! The formula was great, it was easy to apply and the holo is crazy awesome in just 1 coat. I used 1 coat, plus top coat, over Dance Legend Nox for the photos below.

Dance Legend is available at http://www.dance-legend.com/en/, you can also find their polishes at several etailers like Llarowe. For a full list of Dance Legend etailers all over the world check out the Dance Legend website I linked above

Formula X Cherry Blossom Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Can you believe it's already May 1st?!? I can't, time is seriously flying by this year! Today I have a Formula X polish called Cherry Blossom to share with you. I picked this up during the VIB sale a few weeks back. I went on Sephora's website to pick up a couple essentials with my 15% off and of course went to browse polish and somehow this just landed in my cart...whoops haha!

Cherry Blossom is a light pink glitter with different sizes of hex glitter along with flower glitter. I was drawn to this because of the flower glitter, if feels so spring-y! The formula was good it wasn't thick and the glitter payoff was great. I had no issues getting the flower glitter out, no fishing required. I used 1 coat over Barielle My City Apartment for the photos below.

Lighting: Shade

Formula X Cherry Blossom is available on http://www.sephora.com/cherry-blossom-top-coat-P385771?skuId=1592682 and in Sephora stores, it retails for $12.50
