Milani Bella Blue Gold Label Nail Lacquer Swatch & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have a new polish from Milani called Bella Blue to share with you! This polish is part of a small LE collection of all blue items from Milani, in addition to the polish there is also lipstick and mascara.

Bella Blue is a black base loaded with blue shimmer. The shimmer does have a bit of a purple duochrome to it, I couldn't capture it on the nail but you can see it in the bottle in a couple of my photos. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Bella Blue Collection is available now at select Walgreen, Kmart and Fred Meyer stores, the price varies depending on where you purchase. You can also get everything online at MilaniCosmetics.com

Icing Emerald City Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a polish from Icing to share with you called Emerald City! I picked this up a couple months back at a random trip to Icing. I always love going into stores like Icing and Claires because you can usually find great polishes for cheap!

Emerald City is one of Icing's "Cashmere" polishes, which are satin matte shimmers. That's why I bought it, plus you know...green. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. I really love the brighter green shimmer that goes throughout the polish. I used 2 coats, no top coat, for the photos below. The satin effect was easier to see in person, it just didn't come through in photos.

Icing polishes are available at Icing Stores and on Icing.com, if you want this go grab it now because its on sale for $2!

Polished by KPT Kelvin Bleu & Plumeria Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a good day so far! Today I have a couple holographic thermal polishes from Polished by KPT to share with you! I've been planning on showing these for a little while but every time I looked at the Polished by KPT site they were sold out. I noticed last night that they weren't so I can finally post my pictures!

Kelvin Bleu is a silvery grey to blue thermal with a subtle holo. The formula was good but on the sheer side, it was easy to build and opaque in 3 coats. This does dry to a satin matte finish so I used top coat for my photos. I have to say I am a little disappointed in this one, I had trouble getting the color to shift on me and even when it did it wasn't as vibrant as some other photos I've seen :(

Plumeria is a silvery beige nude to pink thermal with a subtle holo. The shift in this one was a bit more noticeable in person but even then it was on the subtle side. The formula was good, it was easy to apply but on the sheer side. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Polished by KPT is available at http://polishedbykpt.bigcartel.com, both of these retail for $12

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was pretty uneventful...yesterday I pretty much laid in bed and snuggled Degen all day. It was nice to have a really lazy Sunday for a change!

Today I have Peony Pink from Pixi for you. This polish is the Pixi color of the month for June. Pixi will be doing a color of the month every month and this is the first of them! Peony Pink is a bright summery pink creme. The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and easy to apply, the opacity was also really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Pixi is available at http://www.pixibeauty.com, this polish retail ro $8.

Sunny's Body Products Hand Care Review

Hi guys! Today I have a bit of a different post for you. No nail polish swatches but some nail care/hand care goodies that I'm excited to share with you! During the last NailGlossip chat on twitter the topic of cuticle balm came up and someone asked why most balms were always lemon scented. I mentioned that I had heard of an indie company that made cuticle balms in a ton of difference scents and after talking about it for a little bit we discovered that the brand was 365 Days of Color.

A few days after that chat I was having one of those nights where I just couldn't sleep so I decided to do some online shopping. I ended up over on the 365 Days of Color shop and found her list of scents offered then pretty much threw my money at her. Right now there are 5 different hand/nail care items offered: Intensive Cuticle Therapy, Hand Scrub, Hand Lotion, Cuticle Balm and Cuticle Oil. All 5 products can be customized with whatever scent you choose from the massive list of fragrance oils linked in each listing.

Needless to say I was a bit overwhelmed with all my scent choices so I was happy to see that not only could you get everything in full sized but you could also get samplers of each product. The samplers each come with 3 smaller sized bottles/jars of the product. I ended up getting samplers of the Hand Scrub, Cuticle Balm and Intensive Cuticle Therapy. The sample sizes are seriously SO generous, not only it is a great way to get to try multiple scents but you get a lot of use out of each sample.

For the Intensive Cuticle Therapy sampler I decided on the scents Old Spice, Twilight Wood and Monkey Farts.

The Intensive Cuticle Therapy comes in a glass vial kind of bottle and it has a dropper that you use to put the product onto your cuticles.

The scents I got were:

Old Spice: blend of citrus, rose & jasmine, close, vanilla and leather. I ended up giving this one to my Dad...it seemed more like a "Dad" scent than a "Jen" scent. He has issues with really dry skin on his fingers so I'm hoping it helps him!

Twilight Woods: Top notes of mandarin balm, tangelo and eucalyptus followed by middle notes of jungle moss, patchouli leaf and sandal tree laying on base notes of red wood forest, amber glow and musk. I got this one because I love the Bath & Body Works scent by the same name. The oil smells pretty darn close to the BBW scent so I am a happy camper!

Monkey Farts: a blend of bananas, fresh grapefruit, strawberries, kiwi, bubble gum and a touch of vanilla. Mostly I got this for the name...but it actually smells pretty darn awesome!

Overall I really like the Intensive Cuticle Therapy...they are made with all sorts of great oils like coconut oil, flax seed oil, argan oil and more so they are super moisturizing. The past few nights I've been slathering on Monkey Farts after using one of the scrubs I bought then slipping on cotton gloves and my hands feel amazing when I get up in the morning!

Next up is the Miracle Balm sampler. The scents I picked were Hawaiian Lei, Red Hot Cinnamon and Chocolate Covered Strawberries. These samples sizes are pretty darn big, I use balms multiple times a day and even doing that these will take me a long while to get through.

The consistency of the Miracle Balm is very similar to the Burts Bees Cuticle Balm. It kind of feels like lip balm. I use it by lightly digging the top of a nail across the top then I massage it into my cuticles.

All of the balms are the same color despite being different scents. Below is a description of the scents I got.

Hawaiian Lei: a blend of gardenia and plumeria with top citrus notes of orange and lime ending with base notes of vanilla. This scent is too die for, I am obsessed with it. I've been keeping this one on my desk at work to use throughout the day!

Red Hot Cinnamon: just like the popular candy. This does in fact smell just like red hots. I'm a big fan of cinnamon-y scents so that's why I picked this one up. It's not quite as strong as I was hoping it would be but I think as I use it I might fall more in love with it.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries: ripe red strawberries covered in rich creamy chocolate. This really does smell exactly like you think it would. It's super decadent and one that you will seriously consider eating.

I really love how the balms (and the scrubs) have all of their ingredients listed on the labels. You can see all the fantastic stuff that goes into these! I think its interesting that these balms contain Biotin and Garlic oil...they are great for nail health and it's nice to have something that I enjoy using contain stuff like that.

Overall I LOVE the Miracle Balms I got. I will for sure be ordering more in different scents. They don't feel greasy and they sink in quickly while still being extremely moisturizing. Not only that but the scent lingers for hours, seriously. The other day I put on Hawaiian Lei when I got to work and I could still smell it after lunch even after washing my hands!

Last but not least are the Sugar Hand Scrub Samplers. I love sugar scrubs so I couldn't pass these up. My favorite hand pampering routine is to massage a nice thick lotion onto my hands (I typically use Lush Lemony Flutter) then I follow it with a hand scrub that I massage in for a few minutes (feels amazing!), then I rinse it all off and apply a thin layer of whatever lotion I used to start with. It will leave your hands so incredibly soft, if you've never tried doing something like that I highly recommend it!

The scents of scrubs I got are Donut Shop, Hippy Christmas and Loganberry.

Donut Shop: the scent of fresh baked donuts when you walk into your favorite donut shop. This is such a yummy bakery scent. This is was by far the favorite of the office when I brought all of these goodies to work to show the other girls.

Hippy Christmas: an earthy blend of fresh patchouli, herbal sandalwood, with hints of strawberry and raspberry with a down of fresh vanilla and peppermint. This is such an unusual scent, I really enjoy it...to me I smell the strawberry and raspberry the most but it has a nice earthy background to it that is really nice.

Loganberry: a sweet aromatic scent, somewhat like very sweet strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and black currants. This was another office favorite, I really enjoy this one also. Seems like I was really feeling the fruity smells when I made this order haha!

included with the scrubs are Popsicle sticks that you use to mix the scrubs. These do need a good mix before using them.

This is how the scrub looks like when you get it and below is what it looks like after you mix it. I really loved these scrubs because they are so dense, you don't need a lot so even the sample size will last you a fair amount of uses.

Overall for the scrubs I love them. I will definitely be ordering more of these in the future!

Needless to say I am a big huge fan of everything I got and will be trying more in the future. There are so many amazing scents that I want to get and I'm excited to try out her Hand Lotion since I am a lotion-aholic. Not only was everything great but this stuff was super affordable so you aren't going to be breaking the bank to pamper your hands and nails. Also wanted to mention that the shipping was incredibly fast, I put in my order at like midnight on a Thursday and everything had already shipped by Noon on Friday.

If you guys have tried any of the 365 Days of Color hand care range please let me know your favorite scents in the comments!

365 Days of Color hand care items are available at 365DaysOfColorPolishes.com.
Prices range from $3-7! Last time I looked everything was sold out (I was bummed, I was going to buy more lol), hopefully she'll restock soon!

Sally Hansen "Pacific Blue"

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend and a great Fathers Day! Today I have Sally Hansen "Pacific Blue" for you. I put it in quotation marks because Sally Hansen has decided to completely change the polish while not changing the name. I'm sure everyone either owns or has seen/heard of Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, it was a gorgeous slightly dusty cobalt blue creme. Pacific Blue was easily my favorite drugstore blue, not only was the color gorgeous but the formula was fantastic. It was a creamy formula that was a dream to apply and opaque in 1 coat.

Well you know good old Sally Hansen can't leave a good thing alone *cough Hidden Treasure cough* so they have apparently changed Pacific Blue to a darker cobalt blue jelly with a blue shimmer. I read about this on Nouveau Cheap's Instagram on Saturday and when I had to stop by Rite Aid to get a gift card that night I decided to see what they had. Sure enough, every single Pacific Blue was this new version.  I bought it because curiosity is the death of me and it looked pretty in the bottle. The color is very pretty but I don't care for the formula very much. This is a jelly, the first coat was sheer and patchy. It did build but I could still see nail line after 3 coats. This does dry down a little bit matte, I used a top coat for my photos below.

The new version of Pacific Blue is very pretty but it really irritates me when brands completely change a polish and leave it with the same name as a very popular shade of theirs. They did this once with Hidden Treasure and I guess the upset that caused wasn't enough of a sign to them that perhaps they shouldn't do that again. I will seriously never understand why brands do this, it causes confusion and pisses people off. I especially don't get why they would do this to a color as gorgeous and popular as Pacific Blue. Deep down I'm hoping this is some kind of quality control screw up but given Sally Hansen's track record I kind of doubt it is.

Sally Hansen is available at pretty much every drugstore, I got my bottle at Rite Aid.

piCture pOlish New Collaboration Shades: Blue Dog & Eerie

Hi guys! Hope you're all having a great weekend so far! Today I have 2 new collaboration shades from Picture Polish to share with you!

Blue Dog is a blue/grey base with blue and purple shimmer. This was a collaboration with Kelly of Vampy Varnish and it's inspired by shark skin! To read Kelly's post about her shade check out her post here.  I really love this polish, it's a bit of a chameleon and depending on the light you're in it changes colors a bit, it can lean more blue or more grey. The shimmer is also a flecked shimmer which is gorgeous! The formula was good, it was a touch sheer and patchy on the first coat but perfect after the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Eerie is a light dusty purple with a silvery shimmer and a subtle holo. This shade is a collaboration with Emily of Very Emily, it's inspired by a gorgeous Polaroid picture she took. You can read all about her inspiration on her blog by clicking here. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer at first but it built really easily and was opaque in 2 coats.

You can find piCture pOlish at picturepolish.com.au. They also have a network of etailers all over the world, you can find a list on their website here.

Urban Decay Chaos Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a gorgeous polish from Urban Decay called Chaos to share with you! Chaos came out a couple months back and I've seriously been drooling over it since I first saw swatches. This is one of those polishes that I admired every time I went into Ulta but could just never justify getting because of the price tag. Well, the other day I was doing some retail therapy after a stressful week and this was just what the doctor ordered so it came home with me. I regret nothing.

Chaos is a bright cobalt blue with a brilliant blue shimmer. It's actually pretty similar to the collab shade I did with Contrary Polish called Beacon Street, it's not an exact dupe but clearly in the same family of awesomeness. The formula of Chaos was great, it was a really nice consistency and the opacity was great. I used 2 coats, plus top coat, for the photos below!

Urban Decay Chaos is available on the Urban Decay Website  and Ulta.com, you can also find it in store at Ulta! Chaos retails for $15

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was nice and relaxing! Today I have a gorgeous polish from Contrary Polish called Bright Lights, Small City to share with you. This polish is exclusive to the July 2014 A Box Indied which is available from Llarowe. The theme of the July box is A Fair To Remember aka its celebrating state fairs! I don't know about where you guys live but where I live we have a fair every summer that I've always gone to every year...it starts in just about  a month actually!

Bright Lights, Small City is a dark blue jelly with orange and pink shimmer. The shimmer is on the subtle side but it was visible out in the sun and in bright indoor lighting. This polish was inspired by the 2013 Missouri State Fair! The formula was good, it was a little thick but I had no issues with application it was a bit sheer going on. It was easy to build and opaque in 3 coats.

A Box Indied is available at Llarowe.com, make sure to follow the Llarowe Facebook Page for updates about availability.
