Hi guys!  Hope you're all having a good weekend so far, mine has been alright. Degen was sick Friday night and since I was up literally all night worrying about him my Saturday was weird. I was like a zombie all day. Why is it that animals always get sick when the vet is closed, it's like they plan it that way. No worries though, Degen seems fine now so he must have just eaten something that didn't agree with his tummy. Today I have a gorgeous collection from SpaRitual for Fall 2014 called Wander. This collection consists of 6 new polishes are are all matte! If you liked the OPI Suedes or the Zoya Matte Velvet polishes then you will love these! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

piCture pOlish BlogFest 2014

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Today I am taking part in the piCture pOlish BlogFest! This is the 3rd year I've taken part in BlogFest, it's always fun to see what other bloggers for nail art. I always discover great blogs I haven't heard of through it! This year we were tasked with using 2 piCture pOlish shades and Nail Vinyls to create a fun look! Before I get to that though I have a swatch of a new shade called Eyre to share with you.

Eyre is blue/purple duochrome with a nice holo shimmer. The formula is good, it was a little sheer and patchy on the first coat but the opacity builds easily. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

For my nail art the shades I got are 2 new ones called Bette and Pandora, I'll have swatches of them on their own in a future post. Both are really pretty scattered holos, I love the way they look together. The Nail Vinyls I got were the new Right Angle vinyls, at first I was a little lost about what I wanted to do so I ended up playing around and doing nail art skittles by using the Nail Vinyls in a different way on each nail.

The Right Angle Nail Vinyls come in 2 sizes, small ones like I used on the middle, pinky & part of my ring finger nail and larger ones that I used on the index nail and part of my ring finger nail. My favorite nails ended up being my middle and ring finger!

I also added G'Day Matte from piCture pOlish over my nail art because I wanted to see how it would look matte. I have to say I LOVE it, I think I actually prefer how it looks matte!

Lighting: Shade

The Nail Vinyls for this nail art were provided by Nail Vinyls, you can find them at the following places:

This polish is in celebration of the brands 2nd anniversary which happened a few weeks back.Beach Blanket is a bright red jelly loaded with bright blue/purple shimmer and micro glitter. The shimmer/glitter is much more noticeable in person than it looks in photos, especially in lower lighting. The formula was good, because it is a jelly it was a bit sheer at first but it was easy to build up the opacity. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Covergirl XL Nail Gel Plump It Pear & Plumped Up Plum Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a couple polishes from Covergirl's XL Nail Gel line to share with you. The XL Nail Gel is meant to be a gel-like look without the hassle of curing the polish etc. Unlike some of the other gel type polishes that are on store shelves the Covergirl line does not require a special top coat. The polishes are meant to dry super shiny and give you up to 7 days of wear. I haven't had a chance to wear test these yet but I'd love to hear about how they held p for you in the comments!

First up is Plump It Pear which is a dark lime green creme. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. The opacity was great, nearly a 1 coater for me. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Plumped Up Plum is a medium purple creme. Like Plump It Pear the formula was really nice, it was easy to work with and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Covergirl XL Nail Gel line can be found at most drugstores, price will vary depending on where you buy. You can also get them on the Covergirl website where they retail for $7.49 each.

I posted a picture of my new desk set up over on Instagram yesterday, I really love how it turned out! Pixi Caliente Coral Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have Pixi Caliente Coral to share with you. This polish is the Pixi color of the month for August. It's a really vibrant coral with a subtle purple/orange shimmer. This shimmer was a on the subtle side but more visible than it looks in my photos. This color was so saturated that it was hard to pick up the shimmer with my camera. The formula was really nice, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. This does dry a little bit matte so I used a top coat for my swatches. I used 2 coats of Caliente Coral for the photos below.

Pixi is available at www.pixibeauty.com, each polish retails for $8

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Wine Stock Swatch, Review & Wear Test

Hi guys! Today I have a review of the new Sally Hansen Miracle Gel for you! I saw these out at Target a while ago and just passed them by, I wasn't planning on trying any but then a reader asked me about them so I decided to go get one of the color and top coat sets.

The shade I got is Wine Stock, it's a nice vampy red creme. There are a ton of shades in this collection (45 in total), I decided on a dark color because I find it easier to tell when top coat dulls and when tip wear shows with dark shades. The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes are available individually or you can get them in a set with 1 color and the special top coat, it was a little bit  cheaper to get the duo at Target.

The formula of Wine Stock was good, you are not supposed to wear a base coat under these and the directions say to use 2 coats. The coverage with 2 coats was pretty good, there were some patchy spots but they were more noticeable in photos than in person. I wrapped the tips of my nails with both the color and the top coat to try and help prevent tip wear. The top coat comes in a black bottle and does not require a light to cure. I did have issues with the top coat dragging off some of the color even though I waited about 5 minutes before applying it. However, once the top coat dried I didn't notice any streaks from that dragging. Dry time with the top coat was good, not as fast as a typical quick dry but much faster than a non quick dry top coat.

The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel boosts "Up to 14 days of Color & Shine" on their website. Unfortunately I got only 2 days of color and shine out of my manicure. By day three tip wear was starting to show and the top coat was significantly dulled and starting to show scratches. I can be hard on my nails at times but I was sick when wear testing this and on day 2 I literally didn't even leave my bed so how it got so dull and scratched is a mystery to me. (apologies for the darkness of the photo, the weather was crappy on day three lol)

Day Four the tip wear and scratches in the top coat was a bit more obvious.

Day five the tip wear was about the same but the dullness and scuffed look to the top coat was more obvious and as you can see it started chipping.

Overall meh...for some these might be great but for me I'm not sold. I removed it after day 5 because I just couldn't stand how it looked anymore. Personally I get better wear out of regular polish and top coat than I did with the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel. I am hoping that maybe this would last better on me with a base coat under the polish but I haven't had time to try that yet.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel is available at drugstores and places like Target. At Target they were $7.99 each for the color and top coat when you bought them individually and $14.99 in the duo.

OCC Unknown Pleasures Collection Nail Art

Hi guys! Today I have a bit of nail art for you! I recently got the new Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Unkown Pleasures Collection for Fall 2014 in the mail so I did a little nail art look using all of the colors in the collection. I'll have individual swatches of the polishes up soon, they are gorgeous, especially the shimmers!

For my index finger I used Dangerous as a base and did some simple dots Distortion. For my middle nail I did some splatter! I used Covet as my base and used all 3 shimmers, Distortion, Technopagan and Posion, as my splatter. I also added a coat of matte top coat, I liked the way it looked better that way! For my ring finger I did some simple stripes with all 6 colors in the collection, Dangerous, Coven, Pagan, Poison, Tenchopagan and Distortion. I used scotch tape and some straight nail vinyls to make the lines straight! For my pinky nail I used Pagan as a base and did a simple flower with Technopagan using Serum No. 5 Cut It Out Nail Vinyls!

Lighting: natural sunlight

Lighting: my kitchen lighting lol (surprisingly good for polish photos)

The Unknown Pleasures Collection from OCC is available TODAY! You can find it at Sephora.com, Beautylish.com and OCCMakeup.com. These will also be available in store at Sephora starting on 9/19/14, that excites me. I'm a try before you buy kind of girl and I've always wanted OCC to have their polish and not just the Lip Tars in store at Sephora!

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend, mine was pretty chill. It was so humid and hot that I didn't really leave the house, we usually don't have humid weather here so when we do I try not to go out in it. I'm not a big fan of humidity :p

I was like oh really?!? Then bought them all...I hadn't even seen any promo for these and had no idea they would be at my nail supply so it was a nice surprise!
