2014 Mainstream Brand Favorites

Hi guys! Anyone have fun plans for New Years Eve tonight? I'm not really sure what I'll be doing, either packing for my move on Friday or going over to a friends house. Today I have my Mainstream brand favorites for 2014! This was a hard list for me to make for the opposite reason as my indie list from yesterday, there wasn't a whole heck of a lot from the big brands this year that really wow-ed me. Here's to hoping 2015 brings more exciting things for the major brands! I'm hoping for more interesting glitters and interesting shimmers! Check out all my picks after the jump!

2014 Indie and Niche Brand Favorites!

Hi guys! Its that time of year...favorites time! Before I get into all my favorites I just want to thank all of you for your continued support. This year has been a bit nuts, especially the last couple months. I've been struggling with actually posting stuff since I closed on my house so I appreciate that you all still read my blog when I can post! I am officially moving on Friday so hopefully everything can get back to normal very very soon!

First up is my indie and niche brand favorites. For those wondering what a niche brand is I define it as a brand that is lab made but available mostly online, like Picture Polish, Dance Legend etc. This is always such a hard list for me to narrow down, these smaller brands continue to make amazing and unique polishes with each collection. Before I narrowed this list down to 20 I had almost 50 that I loved this year! Check out all my picks after the jump! I've included links to each shop at the very end of the post!

The PolishAholic Pad- Update #2

Hi guys! Today I thought I'd post a quick house update! Unfortunately I haven't moved in yet, due to the mold and no walls issues in the bathrooms but that finally got all fixed last week so *hopefully* I'll be moving in the next week or so. Luckily I don't have very much to move, mainly my bed, desk and nail polish storage. All my polish is already at my place, I brought all the drawers over so only the actual units the drawers go in will be moved by movers! Most of the big stuff was stuff I had to buy since I didn't already have it so its already in the new house!

First up is my TV/Entertainment center thingy. I got a freakin awesome deal on a Samsung 55" Smart TV right before Black Friday, I was planning on getting a smaller TV but I couldn't pass up the deal when I saw it, I would link to it but its no longer on sale sooooo :( I have the TV sitting on a Byas TV stand from Ikea, you can find it here. The bookcases on either side are also from Ikea, they are both from the Billy line and were $40 each...what a deal! It looked a bit empty above the TV so I've hung up various sizes of circular mirrors, apparently I didn't take a photo of that...you can see them on the shelves of the book case on the right from before I hung them.

KBShimmer Flakies Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm planning on a few things, mostly building all the closet organization I got at Home Depot for my master bedroom closet, the rods for hanging clothes on were a freakin joke so I ripped it all out and now it's just a big empty space. I got a whole Martha Stewart closet thing so I think its going to look awesome once its done!I am also planning on starting the monumental task of moving all my nail polish over to my new place. I'm planning on hiring movers to get most of my stuff over to my new house but I don't trust them with my polish so I'll be making about eleventy billion trips back and forth to get all of the drawers from my Helmers and Alex's over.

Today I have an awesome LE collection from KBShimmer for ya! In case you didn't know KBShimmer recently released 6 limited edition flakies! These are only available on their etsy shop (linked at the end of the post)! I meant to post these oh about 17 days ago but man...I didn't not realize what a time suck buying and fixing a house would be...so better late than never, right?

Check out the swatches after the jump!

I Survived Black Friday Collaboration Box Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Sorry for the radio silence lately, hopefully I can get back to normal around here soon. I literally haven't painted my nails in about 2 weeks thanks to crazy house stuff :( Luckily it's all starting to come together, I got my appliances yesterday and my living room is almost all set up!

Today I have the I Survived Black Friday Collaboration Box to share with you! This box brings together Different Dimension, Glisten & Glow and Cupcake Polish contributing gorgeous holo polishes along with Nail Vinyls with 2 sheets of holographic decals!

First up was Cupcake Polish Trampled By A Shopping Cart. It's a gorgeous pink leaning purple holo with a nice formula that is opaque in 2 coats. Unfortunately my computer ate my photos of this one so you should go check it out over on Cosmetic Sanctuary!

Next up is Different Dimension Up All Night which is a dark teal holo. The formula was great, it was easy to apply and the opacity was fantastic (almost a 1 coater!) I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The last polish is from Glisten & Glow and its called  First In Line! This one is a medium purple holo. The formula was easy to work with and the opacity was nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Along with the polishes there are 2 sheets of shopping themed decals by Nail Vinyls. There is a silver holographic sheet and a gold holographic sheet, both sheets are full of decals like price tags, shoes, nail polish and dollar signs. I have to say, these weren't my favorite to work with, I found them to be thick and some of them didn't curve with the nail very well so they stuck up, even with top coat. It might not bother some people but for me its like an invitation to pick them off so they didn't last long on me lol!

The I Survived Black Friday Collaboration Box retails for $40 and is available from Different Dimension, Glisten & Glow, Cupcake Polish and Nail Vinyls

The PolishAholic Pad: Update!

Hey guys! Today I have a little house update. If you follow me on twitter you'll know that I've been in nightmare land with my condo for a little over a week so I think I'll start out with the good stuff first. So far the floors are done and everything in painted. Sometime this week I'll be getting my blinds in and going to Ikea to get a ton of furniture so expect that update later! I'm going to try to link the stuff I've bought when I mention it below in case you're wondering where it all came from!

First up is the flooring, I decided to go with vinyl plank flooring. I got a nice dark tone, dark floors are my favorite and they turned out seriously awesome!  Below is the spare bedroom and part of the master right after the flooring was done.
