Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for ya of a gorgeous new KBShimmer polish called Men Are From Mars-ala. This polish is in celebration of the Pantone 2015 Color of the Year, Marsala! When Marsala was announced as the color for 2015 I wasn't very excited about it but man, if this is the kind of polishes we'll get from it I'm a fan.
Men Are From Mars-ala is a brown toned red holo. The holo is nice and strong outside, stronger than it looks in photos and even when I was at work under my crappy office lighting I could see some of the holo! The formula was really nice, it was easy to apply and had nice opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
KBShimmer is available at KBShimmer.com, Men Are From Mars-ala retails for $8.75. For international buyers you can find KBShimmer at Harlow & Co

I did buy it too, as I was expecting to like it very much, from the swatches I saw online. I am wearing it right now, actually.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, on me, it looks more like a mauvey-pink-coral [in French, I'd call this "vieux rose"; I don't know how to translate it, actually...] (hence rather cold than warm) than the nice warm brownish-red I see everywhere (and here) on the Web, in photos. Moreover, I did have some issues applying the polish, as it was a bit thick and quick drying while applying. Finally, it started chipping on day 1 on my right index, which is quite unusual for me. :(
As my first experience with KB Shimmer, I must say I am quite on the fence... But I'll wait to try on another one that I bought (Deja Brew), before deciding if I buy more from that brand or not, in the future. :)
Thanks agains for the superb swatches.
That is such a lovely holo!
