Whimsical Ideas by Pam Holiday 2014 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Today I have a long overdue post for you of the Whimsical Ideas by Pam Holiday 2014 Collection. Better late than never! I've had these beauties for a while and thanks to all my moving/living between 2 houses I didn't get a chance to play with them until recently. For holiday 2014 Pam release 7 new shades, I really like the variety in the collection, there is something for everyone! Check out the swatches after the jump!

Just a little disclaimer: please excuse any bubbles you see in the photos...it's from my top coat :(

Festivus is a multi colored glitter topper. This has a little bit of everything in it in terms of glitter shapes...circle, stars, hex. The formula was good, the glitter payoff was nice. I did find it best to dab on to get the most glitter coverage. I used 2 dabbed coats over OPI Embrace The Gray for the photos below.

Hex And The City is a deep sapphire blue jelly base with shimmer and small blue hex glitter. I really like this one, the glitter isn't over the top and I really like how it just barely peeks out. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Kermit The Frog is a matte glitter bomb! It has dark green, lime green and yellow matte glitter in a slightly yellow base. This can be worn on its own or layered...I like it layered personally! I used 1 coat over Nails Inc Bamboo White. It is a touch thick but I had no issues with application, if you wear this on its own you'll probably want to wait a little bit between coats so you don't drag off the previous coat.

Oy To The World is a slightly off white crelly with blue and gold glitter. I like the name of this one, as soon as I saw it Oi To The World by The Vandals was on repeat in my head haha! The formula was good, it was sheer at first but easily buildable and opaque in 3 coats.

Under The Mistletoe is red and green glitter in a clear base. This polish is so neat, the glitter is kind of transparent and in the bottle it looks black! When I got these I hadn't seen this one on the nail yet so I was like what the heck is this polish from Pam...then I put it on and was like whoa! The formula was good, it was nice and glitter dense and easy to apply with great glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over OPI Cement The Deal.

We Are Stardust is a glitter topper with gold holographic and bits of hot pink glitter. I love the big circle glitter in this one and the hot pink bits were such a nice pop of color! The formula was great, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. You do have to fish a little for the big circles but they are plentiful and easy to grab. I used 1 coat over OPI Dark Side Of The Mood for the photos below.

Yeah Magnets! is a subtle silver holo with silver holographic glitter. This is something I thought I'd never see from Pam...a holo! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good! I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Whimsical Ideas by Pam are ordered via email, each polish is $10. Ordering info can be found over the Whimsical Ideas by Pam Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/whimsicalideasbypam

  3. I am not normally a fan of gold, but I think We Are Stardust is my fave from this collection!

  4. I love Pam's polishes, but sadly I own only three. I wish she'd still be shipping internationally. I'd get Kermit the Frog and Yeah Magnets.

  5. Hex and the City and Yeah Magnets are my kinda jam!
