KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have the KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection to share with you! This collection will be launching today along with 3 new nail vinyl sheets! KBShimmer has a really great collection for Spring this year, it has something for everyone, crelly glitters, super strong holos and one of the best white cremes I've come across in a long time! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Blue-d Lines is an aquamaire ultra-holo. The holo is pretty crazy out in the sun, even more so than it appears in photos! The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Blush Money is a peachy rose with golden shimmer and a subtle holo. This is inspired by one of the 2015 Pantone colors, Strawberry Ice. The formula was good, it was a nice creamy consistency that applied well with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Cool Hand Cuke is a very pale muted green base with pastel purple, blue, yellow and white glitters in various shapes like stars, hex, circles and triangles. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer at first but it built easily and was opaque in 3 coats. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Eyes White Open is a white creme. I know a white creme isn't the most exciting polish ever but white is a color I use A LOT so finding one with a good formula is something I look forward to. I have to say, the formula of this white is fantastic. I've been hoping to find a new holy grail pure white to replace Cult Nails Tempest (sad face) and this is for sure it. The formula is a touch thick but in a good way that gives it good control and opacity. I really didn't have an issue with it being streaky and it was nearly opaque in 1 coat...yeah. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Funky Cold Patina is a green toned turquoise crelly base with glue, copper and purple glitter. I really like this one, the base color is gorgeous and the name is kind of amazing haha! The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good glitter payoff. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

I'm So Sweet Pea is a super pale purple base with purple, pink, blue and mint glitter. The formula was good, it was sheer at first but it builds easily for full opacity in 3 coats. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Ins and Sprouts is a yellow toned green ultra-holo. I think the pictures do pretty good justice to how great the holo is with this one! I love it! The formula was great, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Meow Or Never is a pale grey crelly base with grey, purple, periwinkle and sky blue glitter. This color was inspired by another of the Pantone colors for Spring called Glacier Glacier Grey. The formula was good, it was sheer on the first coat but built easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Sweet Egg-scape is a pale bubblegum pink crelly base with various shapes of pink, lavender, coral, red and silver glitter. There is a lot of stuff going on in this one, circles, triangles, squares, hex glitter and stars! The formula was good, it was sheer but buildable and opaque in 3 coats. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Thistle Be The Day is a purple ultra-holo with pink undertones. Like the others the holo in this one is super strong, much more than it looks in photos. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

To Peach His Own is a peach crelly base with green, magenta, lavender and gold glitter. The formula was good, it was sheer on the first coat but it builds easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Wind Swarm is a pale blue crelly with purple, gold, white and pink glitter along with a sprinkle of holographic micro glitter. The formula was good, it was sheer but easily buildable. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Last up are the new Nail Vinyl sheets being released with the collection. There are 2 that I haven't had a chance to play with yet (Spirals and Lines) along with a festive Spring sheet. The Spring themed vinyls have all kinds of designs like bunnies, tulips, butterflies, eggs and flowers.

Originally I was going to use these as stencils but I ended up really liking the way the antique-y gold vinyl looked over my light green base so I decided to use them as decals instead. The photo below is in the shade!

Overall I really like this collection, KBShimer does those crelly glitters so well and I enjoy all the pale bases she used for these. The holos are also great and of course that white creme is awesome. My picks are Eyes White Shut (you best bet I will be buying backups today), Funky Cold Patina and Cold Hand Cuke...honestly I really like the whole collection, you can't go wrong with any of them.

The KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection will be available starting today over at KBShimmer.com, the vinyls retail for $5 a sheet, Eyes White Shut is $7.50 and all of the other polishes are $8.75. For international buyers you can find KBShimmer over at Harlow & Co!

  6. Your swatches made me buy Funky Cold Patina and To Peach His Own. Really different lovely polishes. I love glitter/crelly combos. I have holo polishes galore and I never seem to wear them. Glitter goes on every time... KB does fantastic glitter polishes.

  7. I love the mix of holos and glitters in this collection. For me, KB Shimmer will always stand for great glitter polishes, I love these the most. I do like holos, too, but I think every indie brand has come out with tons of holos recently, so it is a bit of a holo overkill for me personally. I love your swatches of the collection and will have to get that white. I am always in the market for a white polish with a nice formula :)
