Essie Resort 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Anyone have any big plans this weekend? I'm going to be moving my stuff back to my house, I had a company come in yesterday to take care of the mold so next week after the air test is done I'll be back in my own home...finally woohoo! Today I have Essie's Resort Collection for 2015 to share with you. I haven' really seen much about these but I saw them when I was at my local nail supply store and decided to pick them up. I believe these are in stores like Ulta now but I haven't been there in ages (broke people problems lol) so I'm not 100% sure about that! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Cocoa Karma is a light milky chocolate creme. The formula was great, I enjoyed the consistency and the opacity was really nice. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Stones N' Roses is a medium pink with a bit of a peach tone to it. The formula was ok, it was a nice consistency but a bit streaky. I used 3 coats to completely even it out.

Suite Retreat is a blue based purple. It's very noticeably purple but the blue undertones are pretty strong and it tended to look more blue indoors on me. The formula was good, application was easy and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Time For Me Time is a light beige-y pink with an extremely subtle pink shimmer. The shimmer was pretty much invisible in this one once it was on the nail. The formula was not my cup of team, it was on the thin side and sheer, I didn't have too much streaking with it so that was kinda nice. I used 3 coats for the photos below, in person you could still see the nail line after 3 coats.

Overall this collection gets a bit 'meh' from me, I like them better in the bottle than on the nail. Cocoa Karma is my personal favorite of the collection but its not really unique. Essie retails for around $8.50 but it can vary depending on where you buy from!

  1. The brown and the blue... beautiful! *adds to never ending wishlist*

  2. This collection is "meh" for me too. In fact, Essie has been pretty boring lately which is a shame because their polish lasts long on my nails. They need to come out with some different/unique colors pronto.

  3. I can't say any of these are must-haves for me. I don't like the Essie formula anyway, so not a tragedy.

  4. Suite Retreat is the only one I think I need from this collection. Glad you're gonna be able to get back in your place!

  5. I'm trying to think of the last color from Essie that I was "wow" over and I've got nothing. The colors are pretty but not anything that I can't live without. Womp womp, Essie.

  6. I completely agree with you. I hope they come out with something fun for Summer, because this was pretty boring.

  7. Uninspired I would say

  8. The colors are pretty but they don't really strike me as anything special.

Also, I have an awesome weekend planned! It's our anniversary tomorrow (Valentine's day), so I think my fiance mentioned something about massages in the afternoon (!), then we're going to the florist because he wanted to buy me a new plant but didn't want to kill it in the cold. Then we have dinner reservations at the hotel where we're getting married next year. On Sunday, we're going to the monster trucks! It's been a running joke for years since they're always in town on valentine's/anniversary weekend so I decided what the hell, let's do it!

  9. wow I'm just so excited when I see all these swatches!
Those colors look all lovely and I love the quality of your pictures darling ;)

    xx julia
    Have a nice weekend!

  10. That sounds like a heck of a weekend! Have fun :D

  11. Amazing Collection! Love the Blue colour.
