ILNP Spring 2015 Collection: The Holos Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans this weekend? I'm planning on doing more home stuff, on my list this weekend is recovering my headboard, hanging a shelving unit and putting up some decals on the wall behind my couch!

Today I have the first part of I Love Nail Polish's huge Spring 2015 Collection to share with you! In its entirety their Spring 2015 Collection is made up of holos, Ultra Chromes, Ultra Chrome Flakies and Holographic Ultra Chrome Flakies. I decided it would be easier to split up the different types of polishes so it wasn't a post with like 100 pictures haha! Today I have the 7 holos from the collection for you to feast your eyes on! Check them all out after the jump!

Fame is a glittery holo. This is a really interesting finish, it's got a ton of gold and silver flakes of glitter along with a super intense holo. The holo was much better in person, I promise! The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Flower Girl is a pink holo with a nice golden shimmer to is. The holo is super intense and the gold shimmer helps it look good in most lighting! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Happily Ever After is very similar to Fame in its finish, it's a purple base with silver flakes of glitter and an intense holo. This is my favorite of the collection, the finish of it is unique in my collection and so pretty in person. The formula was good, again with good coverage and a nice consistency. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Mega (S) is a silver holo. From what I understand this is the most cray cray version of Mega yet, it has bigger holographic particles than Mega (L) and Mega do so the effect is even more insane (I didn't know that was possible lol!). The formula was good, very easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Peri Me is a light periwinkle base with a strong holo, gold flakes and red shimmer. The formula was again, really nice. The consistency is good as was the opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Poetry is a rich purple with a reddish shimmer and a subtle holo. The holo is fairly subtle in this one, even out in the sun. The formula was good, easy to apply with great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Timeless Vow is a sage green with a strong holo. Because of the holo it can lean a little grey with it kinda nice...the color seems unique to me because of that. The formula was good, easy to apply and nice and opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall the holos for Spring 2015 are gorgeous, as always. My picks are Happily Ever After, Fame and Timeless Vow.

The I Love Nail Polish Spring 2015 Collection will be available soon, as far as I know they are hoping for early April but I haven't heard a firm date yet! I Love Nail Polish is available at ILNP.com, each of the holos retails for $10 a piece.

  5. All my ILNP polishes get many more compliments than other brands. The only exception would be some of the polishes I have from Sephora, but those are rather expensive. I love holo and multi-chrome polishes. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

  6. I just saw these at my CosmoProf and I felt exactly the same way you did about this line. My favs are also Petal Soft and Make Light of the Situation. When they come out in a week I am buying those 2.

  7. Another thing the girls at CosmoProf & I noticed was that Act Your Beige looked the same color as the nail on the polish swatch thing they send out to paint the colors on.

Those polishes looks awesome =) I read that you do a good 8 hr of swatching every weekend. That is A LOT of polishes... do you do any treatments in between (cuticle oil, handcream, nail strenghtener etc) or do you keep that until your last mani? What does you nails look like after a weekend of swatching like that? =) Maybe you could do a Friday Fav-post about that? Like, "nail care during swatching" or something =) Great blog btw!

  12. I usually moisturize with cuticle balm every 3 or 4 swatches and use a moisturizing remover (like OPI Expert Touch or Zoya Remove)...those do the trick for me! I'll keep in mind doing a post about it, that would be a fun one!

  13. I read somewhere that you shouldn't use base or top coats over holo polishes. What do you think about this? It really puts me off despite how beautiful these are because I can't imagine them lasting longer than a couple of days.

  17. some of the "older" import holos would get really patchy when applied over regular base coat, meaning that you had to use at least 3 coats - google aqua base coats, which were devised to solve this issue. these same ones would also get dulled out and not so rainbow-y if you topcoated. i'm with Jen on all the ones i've bought in the past couple of years - no special base coat necessary, and i topcoat everything with no trouble!
