Literary Lacquer Magic and Mysteries Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a new collection from Literary Lacquer to share with you. This is my first time trying out the brand but I've been eyeing a bunch of their polishes on other blogs for ages so I was pretty excited to swatch these! The Magic and Mysteries Collection is inspired by different books and its made up of a holos, glitters and even a couple glass fleck polishes! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Avada Kedavra is a matte black base with gold and green glitter in various sizes. This polish is inspired by Harry Potter! This is great both matte and glossy (I prefer it glossy!). The formula was good, it was easy to apply with great glitter coverage. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

The 2 photos below are with top coat.

Cast From Stormhold is a red toned purple base with gold flakes of glitter and a silver glass fleck. This is inspired by Stardust by Neil Gaiman. This is so much better in person than it photographs, it shimmers all kinds of different colors! The formula was good, it was sheer but buildable and opaque in 3 coats.

Felix Felicis is a nude base with a ton of gold flecked glitter, this polish is inspired by Harry Potter. The glitter in this is pretty abundant, so much so that I didn't actually realize the base was nude until reading the color description :P The formula was good, it was sheer but easily buildable. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Flickum Bicus is a red orange base with blue shimmer/glass fleck, this polish is inspired by Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. This was more orange leaning in person, unfortunately my camera was picking it up more red. The formula was good, sheer but buildable. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Menolly Rosabelle D'Artigo is a silvery blue scattered holo, this polish is inspired by Yasmine Galenorn's Otherworld series. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but it built easily and was opaque in 3 coats.

Mirror of Galadriel is a strong silver holographic with holographic silver glitter, this polish is inspired by The Lord Of The Rings series. This is reminiscent of Orly's Mirrorball but with more of the chunky holo glitter. The formula was good, sheer but buildable and opaque in 3 coats.

Octarine is a pink toned lilac with a strong holo, this polish is inspired by Discworld by Terry Pratchett. The formula was good, sheer at first but buildable and opaque in 3 coats.

Virgin Huntress is a bright blue glass fleck polish inspired by Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley. The formula was a touch on the thick side and a little patchy on the first coat. I ended up using 3 coats for full opacity.

Literary Lacquer is available on etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/LiteraryLacquer, the polishes from this collection retail for $10-$12
