Degen's March 2015 BarkBox

Hi guys! Today I have the March 2015 BarkBox to share with you! It's been quite a while since I've shared one of these on here, usually I forget or Degen manages to get to the box before I can photograph it haha!

For those who don't know what BarkBox is let me explain...it's pretty much like Birchbox but for dogs. Every month it shows up with an assortment of treats and toys, occasionally there are grooming things in there also. They have different plans that range in price and are customized to the size of your dog, last time I looked there were 4 different size options available...I believe Degen gets the Medium box for those wondering. A portion of the cost of the box also goes to animal shelters which I really love. I've been getting BarkBox for Degen for about 2 years now and overall have liked what he's gotten...sometimes there are off months but other months are awesome and make up for it.

The March box has a movie night theme, check out everything Degen got after the jump!

First up is Nature's Bits Salmon treats. These are soft which I was happy to see. Degen just got him teeth cleaned a couple weeks ago and his vet said he has a cracked tooth way in the back and to try and avoid giving him hard treats...so these are perfect! These are made in the USA and contain fish, fruit and veggies so they are nice and healthy for your dog!

Next up ia Pet Qwerks Pawpcorn toy. This squeaks and has that sound of cellophane paper when you touch it. Degen doesn't care for this (I think the sound when he touches it to squeak it scares him LOL) but good news, Oreo liked it...so its a cat toy now.

Next in the box was another toy, this one is the Harry Barker Fetch Canvas Bone. This is made of cotton canvas backed by berber fleece and stuffed with eco-friendly fiberfill made of recycled bottles. Degen loves this, he was chasing it all over my place last night...squeaking away!

Next up are the treats Degen tried to take before I could take a photograph...see that crumpled plastic wrapping in the left upper side of the picture? Thats from him trying to get it open. These are Healthy Dogma Bacon Hearts. The treats are gluten free and contain Omega-3 fatty acids and lean protein. They are biscuit type treats but not hard at all...Degen pretty much wants to eat the whole container. I had to lock them up in my polish room so he's stop begging for them haha!

Last in the box are Etta Says! Toasted Coconut Bitz. These are grain free and moist treats. I haven't opened them to give to Degen yet but I'm sure he'll like them...he likes everything.

For some Degen shenanigans you can see what happened when I tried to photograph the box outside (before giving up and taking them inside to photograph in the kitchen).

Degen was just not cooperating and he was trying to steal everything out of the box while I was trying to take pictures...the struggle is real!

In case you were wondering when those little teeth marks in the plastic wrap of the bacon hearts happened...

Then he started dragging everything out and I gave up lol

BarkBox is available at BarkBox.com (full disclosure that is a referral link, anyone who has BarkBox gets one!). If you decide to use my referral code it will add an extra box onto each of our accounts so win/win! Plans range from $29-$19 per month depending on the plan you get...you can get everything from month to month up to a full year.

  7. This is amazing! It's nice that a portion of the cost goes to animal shelters. I wonder if they have this for cats...your dog is soooooo adorable!

  8. This company doesn't have a cat version but it does exist, I tried out the PetBox cat version and thought it was pretty good. Their website is https://getpetbox.com

  9. You got such a cute theme! I just googled to see what sizes got what themes this month (I think the themes are half the fun haha) and your blog came up first. We have the medium size box too and ours was "Island Paradise" this month. I wonder how they decide who gets what. My mom has the small box subscription and she got the same theme as me just with different toys. I love the movie theme! If you're at all interested, I'm posting a review of ours tomorrow. I have a doxie too! www.adomesticlife.com :-)

  16. I like the stuffed popcorn! Roco got the fetch bone but instead of the popcorn he ended up getting a super absorbant towel. Do you have Degen listed as a small dog or medium dog?

  17. I think he's listed as Medium but I'm not 100% sure

  18. Yay, Degen post :D! So cute how he's trying to get those treats out. And funny how Oreo liked the toy better than Degen!

  19. So cute! I've been debating on joining Barkbox for a while now. I have four dogs, so one box doesn't seem like enough and multiple boxes would be too expensive. My dogs range from a 1 year old Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix to a 15 year old Pomeranian with two teeth left. I do like the variety, so maybe the pup can play with the toys and my senior dog can enjoy the soft treats.
