OPI 2015 Brights Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the 2015 Brights Collection from OPI to share with you. These are being released in May so this post is a tad bit early but who knows maybe you'll find it out on shelves a little early! The Brights Collection is made up of 6 polishes; 2 shimmers, 3 cremes and a glitter topper. The shimmers and cremes aren't *that* exciting but the glitter is pretty awesome! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Can't Hear Myself Pink is a pink shimmer. In low lighting it has a little bit of an orange flash to it but its not very significant. The formula was ok, it was sheer but buildable and opaque in 3 coats.

I Sea You Wear OPI is a blue shimmer. The formula of this one was also a touch sheer but it built to full opacity in 3 coats. I had no staining with this which is always nice for a blue.

I STOP For Red is a red creme. This has some orange undertones but looks red the majority of the time. The formula was good, it was creamy and easy to apply, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

My Car Has Navy-Gation is a blue creme. This has purple undertones that were more apparent on the nail than it looked in the bottle. The formula wasn't my favorite, it was patchy on the first coat, the second coat mostly covered it up but I did need a 3rd coat to even it out. Like a lot of blues with a cobalt tone this does have a little bit of a skunky scent to it. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

On Pinks & Needles is a hot pink glitter topper. This has various sizes of pink hex glitter, from tiny to large. I did have some issues with the biggest hex glitters having white spots, not sure why that is but they were all like that (prior to top coat and after). The formula was good, it was easy to apply with fantastic glitter coverage. I used 1 coat over My Car Has Navy-Gation plus top coat for the photos below.

The Berry Thought of You is a berry pink creme. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easily to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall the only polish that really excites me from the collection is On Pinks & Needles. I like that big brands like OPI are hopping on board with fun glitters like it. The Brights Collection will be in stores in May 2015!

  2. The Berry Thought Of You reminds me of the first nail polish I loved, Blueberry Pink by Cutex! Love the navy/hot pink glitter combo, but nothing thrilling, thanks for the swatches.

    Yeah... OPI lost me again.
I did end up liking 3 Hawaii polishes in person, but as far as these go I'm not a red or pink fan, and that Blue looks like Eurso-Euro which i have 3 bottles of :/
but i also hope that means OPI will do more fun glitter toppers in the future

  5. My car has navy-gation is pretty but did it stain? I find that blues like that tend to want to stain my nails. I also really like the glitter as well as The Berry Thought Of You. I may or may not get this collection or maybe only those three.

  6. I'm still wearing it so I'm not sure if it stains or not!

  7. Meh, nothing really groundbreaking...again. Get with it, OPI. Maybe it's just my monitor, but does The Berry Thought Of You remind anyone else of last year's Essie Too Taboo?

  8. I'm definitely getting On Pinks and Needles. How similar is I Sea You Wear OPI to Catch Me in Your Net?

  9. Ok so I do not like pink, much less hot pink but that glitter topper...I just love it! I wouldn't pay full retail for it but I'd definitely pay pro price for it.

  11. I think these colors are pretty! I don't know that I NEED any of them, but I like them.

  12. Hi Jen, I think this collection would have more appeal for me if it had some sort of unifying theme. But it's just a bunch of random yawn colors, except for the glitter. For someone who is building their collection and needs a few basic colors, this would work. As for me, I have a million reds, blues, and pinks already! (All that being said, OPI is still generally my go-to brand. I like their brushes.) Thanks for the swatches!

  13. I had the same thought in mind, regarding the blue. I just bought Eurso-Euro. Is it possible to request swatch comparison between these two blue polishes? Would love to see how they compare to each other. If you don't mind, Jen.

  14. The only one that I am loving is On Pinks and Needles. I wish that OPI would have made other glitter colors like the pink. It is so beautiful. All of the others are just too similar to other OPI polishes that I have. I have really been so disappointed in the OPI collections in 2015 so far. There are 3 or 4 that I want from the new Soft Shades collection.
