Ever Glaze by China Glaze Case of the Mondaze Swatch, Review & Wear Test

Hi guys! Today I have a review of the new Ever Glaze system made by China Glaze to share with you! I picked up a few polishes from the line at my local beauty supply a couple weeks ago! Ever Glaze is meant to be a long wearing polish much like the gel-polish hybrids done by other brands (Vinylux, Infinite Shine, Miracle Gel... etc). It's a 3 step system made up of a prep coat, the polish and the top coat.

The Prep was what I thought was going to be a base coat but it ended up being some kind of nail dehydrator, it gets rid of all of the oil on the nail bed which in theory should help your polish last longer. Next I put on my Case of the Mondaze which is a gorgeous cobalt blue, I couldn't resist it when I saw it! The formula was ok, I found it to be a bit sheer and though it did build it took 3 coats for full opacity. I did not have staining with this polish even though a base coat was not used, I was a little worried about that when I applied the polish. After about 5 minutes I went back with the top coat, it's in a blackened bottle and cures with natural light, no need for a lamp or anything like that. I had no issues with the top coat dragging off the color like I have with other systems like this so that was a nice surprise!

Below is my nails on Day 4, unfortunately this system didn't really wear very well for me. The top coat had lost its shine and started to look scuffed up by Day 3. I didn't have any issues with chipping but I did get a bit of tip wear even though I wrapped my tips with both the color and top coat. I don't know what it is with these gel-polish hybrid top coats but seriously all of them get dull on me really quickly :(

Overall these are ok, they might wear better for other people but for me I get better wear out of regular polish with my regular base and top coat. The selection of colors is nice for the line, I picked up a few more that I'll post eventually. Case Of The Mondaze while gorgeous was disappointing in the formula department, I have too many other cobalt blues with great formulas that this isn't one I'd grab for again.

Ever Glaze is available now, it's on http://www.sallybeauty.coml for $8.99 a bottle, however I don't know if its in stores (haven't seen it in mine yet).

Pretty color but I'm with you - I get a week out of my manis with most of my polishes. Don't feel the need for this type polish. But my daughter, who has a real problem with chipping might benefit from something like this.

  2. Seems like everyone and their mother now has a line like this! I'll admit, I haven't really tried any of them yet, mostly because wear isn't as important to me since I change every day or 2 days.

  3. Do you think that the basecoat could be used with any nail polish? My nail polush always starts peeling off by the end of the day...

  4. I don't see why not :)

  5. I agree, Jen. After a few days the topcoat dulls. I, too, can get the same results from regular polish so this will be a pass for me.

  7. My comment is exactly the same at Carol's, below!! No need to add more, except that I would include ALL the gel-hybrid systems, not just China Glaze. I've tried them and have been sadly disappointed that they didn't live up to the companies' claims, at least for me personally. =(

  9. Terrible. I tried three different colors and they all had chips within 24 hours. Worse then cheap polish. I did the prep, washed my nails good, wrapped the ends..everything, but it chipped and dulled quickly. Very disappointed

  10. not only did this product not do what it claimed…it was worse than the cheapest polish you can buy. i tried 3 different colors, read the prep and usage tips, made sure to wrap the ends…and all 3 colors were chipping so bad the first 24 hours i just took it off. Worst polish I have ever tried…I was so excited about this one to. I want a refund!

  12. I'm wearing this on day 6 in the Taken for Pomegranate color and it's wearing much better for me. I used Seche Clear base and Seche Vite for top coat, and two coats of the color. I love it and wish they had more colors that I want.

  13. I purchased this baby yesterday at the China Glaze italian retail. They did not sell me the base and the top coat too, but only the polish (actually, they did not have any base coat OR top coat). My polish is darker than your, maybe because I did not use the basecoat? O.o
