Whimsical Ideas by Pam Spring 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend and a nice Easter. My weekend was pretty awesome, on Saturday I spent the afternoon with the fabulous Kellie of KellieGonzo! Its been like 4 years since the last time I saw her and it was a blast! We did a little nail polish shopping and a tiny bit of damage at Lush and Sephora. It's always such a treat to get to hang out in real life with other bloggers I've gotten to know the last few years!

Today I have the Spring 2015 Collection from Whimsical Ideas by Pam to share with you. This collection is made up of 7 new polishes! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Best Buds is a glitter topper full of matte blue and green pastel glitter in a clear base. I really love how this can totally change how it looks depending on the base color. I used it over a soft pink and it looks so soft and feminine, and over darker base colors its so striking! The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the glitter coverage was good. I used 1 coat over SpaRitual Vibration.

Catching Fireflies is a plum shimmer with a pink and gold flash. The pink and gold are much more noticeable in person and in lower light it gives it a bit of a duochrome look. The formula was good, it starts out sheer but its easy to build up and get opaque. You could also layer it over a base color which could result in some really pretty results! I used 3 coats for the photos below.

For Peep's Sake is a glitter topper with pastel yellow and pink hex glitter along with periwinkle circle glitter in a clear base. I kinda love the name of this...Degen has a big squeaky peep toy and whenever he starts going crazy squeaking it I've started saying "Oh for peep's sake" because of this polish haha. The formula was good, its easy to apply with really nice glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over Pretty Serious The Dragons Curse.

Hamlindigo Blue is a purple leaning periwinkle jelly base with blue leaning periwinkle glitter. If you watch Better Call Saul you probably giggled when you saw the name of this polish :) I really love how the glitter and the base color are similar but different enough to give a nice contrast. This was a favorite as soon as I opened up the package Pam sent! The formula was good, it was a bit sheer at first but it builds really easily. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Please excuse the naked bottle, Pam changed the name of this from Hamlindigo to Hamlindigo Blue after I got my bottle and I hadn't gotten the new label yet when I swatched it!

Orange You Happy? is a glitter topper with matte orange, yellow and red glitter. I don't think I'll ever get tried of this type of color combo with glitter, I always love how they look on the nail. The formula was good, easy to apply and good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over SpaRitual Groove.

Regina Falange is an orchid jelly base with purple glass glitter. I think I've said this the last couple collections from Pam but I LOVE the glass glitter. I still can't believe more indies haven't been using it (or maybe they are and I just haven't seen it!). The formula was good, sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Secret Garden is a glitter topper full of holographic green glitter, and holographic magenta glitter. This formula was good, the glitter payoff was pretty awesome and it was easy to apply.  I used 2 coats for the photos below (because I was like MOAR GLITTAH) over OPI Chiffon My Mind!

  1. You mentioned glass glitter, which I can't say I recall ever having heard of... What's the difference between glass glitter and regular glitter?

  2. So glad I got to see you and hang out for a little while the other day, I had a blast :D

I definitely need Regina Falange, if only for the name haha :)

  3. It's a bit transparent!

  4. <3 lol I know right, the name of that one is awesome!

  5. Oh, I've just never heard it called that before! You learn something new every day...

  6. So fun seeing all these Spring collections!
