KBShimmer Summer 2015 Collection Part 2 Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have Part 2 of KBShimmer's massive Summer 2015 Collection! If you missed Part 1 you can check it out here. Part 2 is made up of the glitters and a holo! I should have Part 3 up next week, I was hoping to have it up before the collection launched but the weather just wasn't being my friend over the weekend so I couldn't get them all swatched :( The entire 28 piece collection will be launching tomorrow May 15th over on the KBShimmer and Harlow & Co website. I'll have both linked at the end of the post! Sidetone, did anyone else see that KBShimmer added mani shots on their site? You can see them all here, I *think* they will be launching with the new polishes! I'm gonna need the Chai Tea one in mah life immediately! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Alloy Matey! is a silver glitter bomb full of small and micro holographic silver glitter. This is pretty much a nail disco ball, the sparkle is out of this world. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but it built up easily. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Home Surf is a dusty teal jelly with various sizes of silver holographic glitter. Pictures don't do this one much justice because the sparkle from the glitter just doesn't translate well in photo form. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. It was more opaque than I expected, I only needed 2 coats for full opacity.

Pink-A-Colada is a pink jelly base with strong purple undertones, it's loaded with green, blue and pink holographic glitter in various sizes. The formula was good, it was easy to work with and applied easily. It's a bit sheer at first but builds easily and is completely opaque in 3 coats.

Shell Shock is a peach-y tan crelly base with copper, magenta and gold glitter. This might not be everyones cup of tea but I like it. The formula was good, it is on the sheer side, most likely so that the glitter peeks out from the base. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Sun & Games is a golden glitter bomb. This is pretty much the gold version of Alloy Matey! This is my personal favorite of the collection, I've actually worn it twice since it arrived which is saying a lot since I'm not normal a gold polish kinda gal. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. The coverage was pretty fantastic, opaque in 2 coats!

Vitamin Sea is a dark aqua leaning teal jelly with pink and silver holographic glitter in various sizes. The formula was good, it was easy to apply. It does start out sheer but builds easily, it also dries down a touch matte so I used top coat for my swatches. I used 2 coats for my swatches, the nail line wasn't as visible in person as its showing in photos.

Wave the Flag is a red, white and blue glitter in a clear base. I always love to see the patriotic polish KBShimmer brings out every year. This one is great, full of matte glitter and tiny white stars. The formula was good, it was very glitter packed so its easy to get good payoff. The glitter did tend to stick together so it's one I'd recommend using the blob and spread method with...I just put a big blob of glitter on the nail then push it around. I used 1 dabbed coat over JulieG Licorice Twist for the photos below.

We Be Jammin' is a purple leaning magenta with strong blue shimmer and a sprinkle of holographic goodness. This is another favorite for me, it's a really interesting polish. I don't feel like its something I own already which is always nice. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

What Are You Wading For? is a blue leaning periwinkle holo. The holo is nice and strong, much more than it looks in photos. It also has a little bit of blue shimmer which doesn't translate in photos but is visible in person depending on the lighting you're in. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and opaque in 2 coats.

These are lovely!! Perfect for the summer!

  2. The burgundy glitter in Shell Shock is such a cool and new shade of glitter, I'm hoping it'll appear more often!

  3. Amazing swathces, as always! :) Thank you.
Would you happen to know how "Home Surf" compare to Picture Polish "Lagoon"? They look rather similar to me; but maybe "Home Surf" is a little bit more "muted", less vivid?
Thanks in advance if you happen to have that colour. :)

  4. They are similar in feel but the KBShimmer has different glitter and looks more like a jelly

  5. Look at sun and games! So amazing!

  6. Thank you for such detailed description. It helps. :)
