KBShimmer Summer 2015 Collection Swatches & Review Part 1

Happy Friday! Today I have the first of 3 posts of KBShimmer's Summer 2015 Collection! KBShimmer is releasing something like 28 polishes on May 15th. IN all there really is something for everyone, whether you prefer cremes, or holos or glitters! This first part of the Summer Collection is made up of 7 bright cremes and 2 glitter toppers! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Before I get into the post, lets talk about my photos. The cremes in this collection are faded out neons, neons are hard to photograph but apparently even more difficult when they are faded *sad face*. My camera was having issues and I'm not sufficient enough in editing to perfectly color correct etc, plus ain't nobody got time for that, just sayin'. KBShimmer has a variety of swatches from several bloggers on her website for each shade, if you are unsure about a polish I'd recommend checking out the listings on her website to get a better feel for how the polish looks!

Bahama Drama is a faded peachy pink neon shimmer. Depending on the lighting it leans either more towards pink or more towards orange. In bright lighting (like sunlight) it tends to lean more pink and in lower lighting it goes more toward orange. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photo below.

Dust In The Bottle is a holographic topper. This is very much like China Glaze Fairy Dust, but with smaller holo bits. Photos don't do this justice, the sparkle is crazy in person! The formula was good, it was a touch thick but easy to work with and the glitter/holo payoff was good. I used 1 coat over Sarong Place, Sarong Time for the photos below.

For Sail By Owner is a neon lime creme. This does have a bit of a faded look to it but it's still nice and bright, I don't know how that works...but it does! The formula was great, it was a good consistency and application was a breeze. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

In Yacht Water is a blue creme that leans toward aqua. The formula was fantastic, it was the perfect consistency and it glides onto the nail with ease. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Leggo My Mango is a faded creamsicle orange creme. This reminds me of the creamsicle popsicles I would always eat as a kid haha! The formula was good, it was a touch streaky but it leveled out nicely and was perfect in 3 coats.

Lei It Again is faded hot pink neon creme. This polish and I, we have issues...she was hard to photograph. Major apologies for the not fantastic photo of this one, I finally waved the white flag and went with the closest I could get. In person it's a big more vibrant. The formula was good, it was on the thick side but the good kind of thick that gives good control when you're applying the polish. It was a little patchy on the first coat but ended up only needing 2 coats.

Precious Petals is a glitter topper filled with pink, white, periwinkle and blue glitter in various sizes in a clear base. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat  over Bahama Drama for the photos below.

Rum Me The Right Way is a neon yellow creme. This isn't quite as blinding in person but its still nice and bright. The formula was good, it was a little patchy on the first coat but for a yellow, it was great. I used 2 thin coats and 1 thick coat to even it out.

Sarong Place, Sarong Time is a super saturated violet purple. This is my personal favorite of this first part of the collection, I'm always a sucker for these types of purples. The formula was fantastic, pretty much perfection, almost a 1 coater for me. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

  1. Such a fun collection! My favorite is Bahama Drama, I need to have that :)

  2. 28 polishes that's a lot and really awesome at the same time! This entire collection is just lovely.

Do you think Bahama Drama is noticeably different from You're So Shellfish from KBShimmer last summer? I can't decide if I need both )

  4. Its leans a bit more pink, I'm not sure if you would need them both unless you really liked pinky-orange corals though!

  5. I love those faded neons, more wearable in my opinion!

Thank you Jen! I think I'll stick with my You're So Shellfish then :)

  7. Did you find that Sarong Place Sarong Time has oxidized/separated in your bottle? I bought mine when the collection came out, but I tried to put it on and now it doesn't even look remotely purple - it looks like a hot pink!
