KBShimmer Summer 2015 Collection Swatches & Review Part 3

Hi guys! Today I have the final part of the massive KBShimmer Summer 2015 Collection to share with you! This part of the collection includes all of the flakies, there are 4 different silver flakies and 6 ultra chrome flakies! If you missed the first 2 parts of the collection you can find them by clicking here and here.  Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Foiled is the smallest of the silver flakies. The flakes of glitter are tiny in this one and its best worn on its own, you can wear it layered but the glitter payoff is so good that it just don't work as well that way. The formula was great, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with great opacity. I used 2 coats on its own for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Green Weaver is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts mostly between green, gold and pink but can shift a little bit to blue at extreme angles. The formula was good, on its own it can get a little thick but I didn't find application to be an issue as long as the previous coat was dry before going over it. I decided to wear this on its own but its great for layering also. I used 3 coats on its own for the photos below, both photos are in the shade

Look On The Nightside is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts between green, teal and purple...it also has pink at extreme angles. This is one of my favorites, photos really don't do it justice! The formula was good, like Green Weaver it can get thick on its own but as long as you're patient its not too difficult to apply. I used 3 coats on its own, both photos are in the shade.

Moody Hue is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts mostly between blue and purple, I also saw a bit of a burgundy along the edges of the nail. This one was difficult to photograph, it was more shifty in person than my camera wanted to capture. The formula was good, I had no issues with application as long as I let coats dry in between. I used 3 coats on its own, both photos are in the shade.

Pros & Bronze is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts between orange, gold and green. This was an unexpected favorite for me, for some reason I was kinda like meh in the bottle but its a stunner on the nail. The formula was a touch this on this one but the opacity was great, I only needed 2 coats to get it opaque on its own. Both photos are in the shade.

R-E-F-L-E-C-T is a medium size silver flakie. This can be worn on its own or layered. The formula was good, the flakies were plentiful and it was easy to spread them evenly on the nail. I used 1 coat over JulieG Candy Shop for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

She's Beyond Kelp! is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts from gold to green to a brilliant blue. This was another surprise favorite, it ended up having a much better shift that I was expecting! The formula was good, like the other ultra chrome flakies it can get thick but as long as you're patient application isn't too challenging.  I used 3 coats on its own, both photos are in the shade.

That's Ore Like It is large silver flakies in a clear base. This is the 2nd largest silver flakies. The formula was ok, I found it to be a bit thick and the flakes of glitter tended to stick together making application a little tricky. I found the best method for application was to paint a stripe of the polish down the center of my nail and then spread out the glitter from that. I used 1 coat over JulieG Sweet Tooth for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

Take The Punny And Run is an ultra chrome flakie that shifts between pink, orange, gold and green. This is awesome...I think the pictures speak for themselves. If you only get one of these flakies this would be my pick. The formula was good, like the other flakies it can get thick but patience is a virtue and waiting a few minutes between coats is key. I used 3 coats on its own, both photos are in the shade.

Sterling Example is the largest of the silver flakies. The formula was similar to That's Ore Like It, it was on the thick side and the flakes of glitter stuck together. I used the same stripe and spread method for this one. I used 1 coat over JulieG Wild Cherry for the photos below, both photos are in the shade.

The KBShimmer Summer Collection is available now at KBShimmer.com and Harlow & Co. You can also find KBShimmer on Amazon. The polishes in this part of the collection all retail for $10.75 each.

  5. Look on the nightside is stunning😊 my latest purchase is fairy guts from PSC. It's a flakie top coat, and it's very pretty. I love the flakies, easier to remove than glitter, but some of them take a while to dry..thankyou for your swatches, they look beautiful as always!
