ILNP Summer 2015 Ultra Holos Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the first part of the big ILNP Summer 2015 Collection for ya! ILNP is releasing 2 collections for Summer, 1 of them is 10 Ultra Holos which is what I have to show you today! These 10 polishes are sparkly like whoa, some of them have a fine linear holo and others have a larger particle holo that shows a little more scattered! These will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, June 12th! When you pre-order you save $1 off each polish so it's a pretty good deal! I'll have the other part of the Summer 2015 Collection up later this week, before the presale! Check out all the swatches after the jump, this post is picture heavy so it might take a little longer than usual to load!

Before we get into the photos please excuse any weird hand poses for these swatches, I did them the day I hurt my index finger on my swatch hand so holding bottles was challenging lol! All of the holo while strong in the photos is stronger in real life...as always. All photos are in natural sunlight with no top coat.

1UP is green holo. This is a nice medium green with a bit of a yellow undertone to it. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Closure is a red holo. Oh red holos, I love you but you never photograph well and it makes me so sad :( This was SO MUCH BETTER in real life, curse you saturated red pigment making holo hide in photos! The formula was good, again with a really nice consistency and good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Float On is a bright blue holo. Every time I look at the name of this I start sining Float On by Modest Mouse...it will be stuck in my head all day now haha. The formula was good on this one also, it was easy to apply with a good consistency. It was a touch sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Honor Roll is a navy blue holo. I love this one, navy holos are something I will always like. I really like that the holo in this one is a little bigger so its not a super smooth linear holo...it's different than what we see a lot. The formula was good, easy to apply with great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I See You is a champagne holo. This one is crazy holo, its one you'll have the urge to stare at for long periods of time when you step out into the sunlight. The formula was good, easy to work with and apply. It was a little sheer on the first coat but opaque on the second coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Missed Calls is a black holo. I really like this one also, it has the same kind of slightly larger holo like Honor Roll does. The formula was great, easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Paige is a pink/fuchsia holo. I never know what to call these kinds of pink...is it pink or is it fuchsia? You can decide haha!  The formula was great, easy to apply with a good consistency and opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Paper Route is a light grey holo. The holo in this one is on the subtle side but not as subtle as it photographs. The formula was good, it was sheer but it built easily. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Ten Fold is a teal holo. This walks the line between blue and green really nicely, it doesn't lean too much toward either. The formula was good, a touch sheer but mostly opaque with 2 coats. Depending on how the holo particles spread you'll either need 2 or 3 coats, I used 2.

Walking Home is a deep grape purple holo. Yum, that's all I have to say about this...yum. The formula was great, easy to apply with fantastic opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I really like these, no surprise there. My picks are I See You, Honor Roll and Walking Home. The Summer 2015 Ultra Holos will be available for Pre-Order at ILNP.com starting on Friday, during the presale each polish is $9, regular price is $10

  6. Hi Jen,
Would you agree that this collection resembles, somehow, the Lacquer Lust "Birthstones" collection, in its general look (while precise colours may differ)? This is the first impression I get. What do you think?
Meanwhile, there are *a lot* of very nice colours here! :)
Thank you again for such detailed review and perfect swatches. :)

  7. These are going to bust my no-buy! The first time I saw I See You, I about died! I already have Champagne Blush and wondered how similar they are, but I'll probably get it regardless. And Paper Route - still loving pale grays, and especially one with holo. Thank you for your gorgeous swatches and photos!

  8. Hi Jen! Thanks for this review. So many to love from this collection. A few questions for you... How do the following compare - are they dupey? (1) Honor Roll versus Picture Polish Midnite Meteor or Zoya Dream (2) Float On versus Picture Polish Ocean and (3) Paige versus ILNP Bikini Bottoms. Thank you!!

  9. I definetely get the same feel from them, a lot of the lacquer lust ones had a bit of a jelly texture to them though!

  10. Thank you for your answer. :)
It's a good piece of information you are giving me here, about the jelly texture; as I generally prefer a "non jelly", I may well be more interested now in the ILNP ones. :) Thanks again.

  12. Love these! Definitely going to have get these when I can

  13. Both the Picture Polish and Zoya polishes have more of a jelly finish and the holo is much more scattered. For Bikini Bottoms its a smoother, more linear holo!

  14. Champagne Blush is much more pink toned, you'd be good with owning both!

In your opinion, who does the best linear holos? I plan on buying an amazing one that shines like woah one day and wanted to know what brand you thought was just stellar at them.

  16. ILNP makes tons of great ones and they are easy to get which is a big plus for me. If you want a more mainstream brand check out Color Club, their Halo Hues are perfection!
