Zoya Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have the shimmer half of the Zoya Summer 2015 offerings to share with you! This part of the collection is called Paradise Sun and its made up of 6 shimmery shades! Most of the shades in this half of the collection correspond pretty nicely with the Island Fun creme half of the collection, I always like when Zoya does that. If you missed the Island Fun Collection you can check it out here. Check out all the shimmery goodness after the jump!

Aphrodite is a juicy red with purple and orange shimmer along with small flakes of gold shimmer/glitter. I wish photos could accurately capture how pretty this one is, it just doesn't translate :( The formula was good, its a tad bit jelly-ish but easy to build. Depending on how much free edge you have it's a 2-3 coater, I used 3 coats!

Genesis is a shimmer white. The formula was a little troublesome on this one, it tends to be streaky and a little thick. Its one you have to be patient with when applying it. I found the best method was 2 thin coats and a thicker 3 coat to even it out.

Isa is a dark blue toned purple shimmer. This one is a bit of a chameleon, indoors it seemed to look more purple and outside in the bright sun it leaned more blue. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Mae is a bright pink with a pink flash of shimmer. The formula was good, easy to work with and it had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Oceane is a blue shimmer. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second. I did not have staining with this but I know others have so doubling up on base coat is a good idea.

Selene is a green leaning teal shimmer. The formula was good on this one also...easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below. This is another that people have had staining issues with (I didn't), double base coat is a good idea for this one also.

Overall I like these but they don't totally wow me, I feel like I've seen them before. My pick is Aphrodite!

The Paradise Sun Collection is available now at zoya.com, each polish retails for $9

  1. I wonder if Mae is close to OPI I'm All Ears from one of the Minnie Mouse collections?

These are really pretty But I think I prefer the Island Fun Set to these. Most of these look like colors I already own either from Zoya or OPI. (Selene looks like Giovanna, and Oceane looks like one from the OPI Skyfall collection, I cant recall the name right now) But that doesn't mean they aren't a good collection just nothing I need :( but if I had to choose I'd also choose Aphrodite
