ILNP Fall 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, its actually still my weekend since I have the day off for Labor Day! I had a pretty productive weekend so far though which has been pretty nice. I decided to turn the closet in my office/nail polish room into a place to put a lightbox. I've been meaning to make a lightbox for AGES but have never really had a place to put it until now. I moved over 3 Helmers I still had at my parents place and built the lightbox. I'm probably not going to use it much since I prefer sunlight but it'll be nice to have in case we have a stretch of crappy weather.

Anyway, today I have the ILNP Fall 2015 Collection to share with you! This collection is pretty massive, so this post is picture heavy after the cut. There are all the finishes that ILNP is so great at in this collection, some strong holos, some ultra holos, a couple ultra chrome flakies and a couple multichrome polishes. These are available right now for preorder, which saves you $1 a bottle, if you plan on buying a few thats a great deal! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

After Midnight is described by ILNP as a Prussian blue holo. There are also small gold flakes of glitter in here but I struggled to see them once the polish was on the nail. The formula was nice, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. It was sheer at first but it built easily and was opaque in 3 coats.

Cameo (H) is the holographic version of Cameo which was part of the Summer 2015 Collection. The holo is much stronger in person that it photographs, you can also see the color shift in this out in the sun. In the shade this shifts between pink, gold and green. I wore this for almost an entire week and barely had any tipwear and not 1 chip...gotta love that! The formula was good, its a bit sheer starting out but its easy to get opaque on its own. I used 3 coats for full opacity, you could also layer it over a dark base if you wanted to use less coats.

Clockwork is a bronze flake holo. I love this finish so I was excited to see more of them in this collection since ILNP does them so well. This polish has a bronze base and is absolutely packed with tiny bronze flakes and a strong linear holo. If you haven't tried one of these flake holos you need to, you will love it! The formula was good, it was a good consistency with easy application and good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below. I should also mention that this removes easily, just like a normal holo.

Diablo is an oxblood red with a scattered holo. The formula was good, its got a bit of a jelly feel to it but the opacity better than jellies are. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Dream Girl is a light pink holo. The holo is really strong in this one, even more than it looks in photos. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. Depending on how much free edge you have its either a 2 or 3 coater, I used 2 coats.

First Class is a silver flake holo. Like Clockwork the finish is just so much better than in looks in photos, and much more holo in person. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Glory is a red/orange/gold ultra chrome flakie. I tried this on its own and couldn't get it opaque but you may be able to if you sponge it on (I was applying regularly). The formula was good on its own as a layering polish, it was easy to apply with good glitter payoff. I used 1 coat over black for the photos below, all photos are in the shade.

Greatness is an ultra chrome that shifts between deep red, orange and gold. This is like fire on your nails and the color shift is intense...Greatness is like the perfect name for it. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with a nice consistency. It starts out a little sheer but its easy to build and opaque on its own in 3 coats. All photos are in the shade.

Lulu is a dark grape purple holo. This is more of a scattered holo than a linear holo. Depending on the lighting it can tend to look a bit blue. The formula was really nice, it was easy to apply and had nice opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Maiden Lane is a blue toned grey holo. This is a really strong linear holo. I like the blue smokiness to it, its a great fall shade! The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Mona Lisa is a brown holo with a touch of golden shimmer to it. I'm a fan of brown polishes so its no surprise that this is a favorite for me. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer but it built easily and was opaque in 3 coats.

Mountain View is a deep green leaning teal with a scattered holo and small bronze flakes of glitter. This one is similar to After Midnight in the way that the flakes of glitter are awesome in the bottle but get a bit lost on the nail. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below. I did not have staining with this but I'd recommend 2 coats of base coat just in case.

Overnight Bag is described by ILNP as an espresso brown holo. There is a ton of red in this so to me it tends to look more red than brown, but that could be different for you depending on your lighting and skin tone. Either way, this color is perfection. Its such a beautiful vampy shade, perfect for Fall and with so much depth to it. The formula was really nice and it had great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Pretty Little Liar is a plum holo. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had a bit of a jellyfish texture to it. I used 2 coats for the photos below but if you wanted to deepen the color a bit you could use 3 and it would be stunning that way also.

Spiced Eggnog is a creamy beige-yellow base with a subtle holo and small red flakes of glitter. This is one of those polishes you'll either love or hate...I love it. I'm a fan of weird shades like this, it didn't look great on my skin tone but that didn't stop me from wearing it for several days. The formula was good, it was a bit sheer but it built easily and was easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The Road To Awe is an ultra chrome flakie that has all kinds of purple, pink, orange, gold and copper. The name is pretty perfect for this one, its one of those polishes you put on and are in awe of haha! The formula was good, I didn't try it on its own but if you sponged it on you could probably get it opaque that way. I used 1 coat over black, all photos are in the shade.

Top Down is a silvery blue holo. This is another strong holo, stronger in person than photos. It was easy to apply and had a nice consistency with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Overall I really enjoy this collection, there is a lot of variation and so many gorgeous shades and finishes to choose from! The Fall 2015 Collection is available for preorder now at ILNP.com, during the pre-order you save $1 per bottle!

  8. Depends on the kind of holo you like, if you like a smooth linear holo I really like ILNP and KBShimmer, for a more scattered holo Glam Polish is the way to go!
