Arcane Lacquer Astral Projection Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys, today I have the Astral Project Collection from Arcane Lacquer to share with you. Arcane Lacquer is an Aussie brand, available in the states from Color4Nails. The Astral Projection Collection is a 4 piece collection made up of really interesting finishes. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Circles, Cycles & Seasons is a blackened green base with a subtle linear holo, green shimmer and iridescent shards of glitter. The formula was ok, I found the iridescent shards a little hard to work with since they sometimes didn't want to lay flat but the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Fear Was Just A Word is a smoky grey/gold base with a scattered holo and small coppery flakes. This is by far my favorite of the collection, the combo is really interesting and the polish is a total chameleon depending on the lighting you're in. I'd recommend looking up a lot of swatches of this one because it will look different on everyone. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Feathered and Abused is a lavender base with a scattered holo and a bit of pink shimmer. This one is a little odd, it dries smooth but almost had a textured/lumpy look to it...even with top coat. The formula was easy to work with, it applied nicely and was opaque in 2 coats.

Voice of Contention is a blackened purple with a subtle holo and iridescent shards of glitter. I had a little trouble with the formula of this one because of the shards of glitter. The shards make this really interesting in the shade but I just wish they were easier to use. The opacity was good, I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Arcane Lacquer is available at color4nails.com, each polish in this collection retails for $11.50

  1. Beautiful swatches!

  2. I think they all look really interesting! Your descriptions of them were good and very helpful too. Too hard to choose a favorite! Thanks for sharing.
