China Glaze Fall 2015 Great Outdoors Collection Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have the Great Outdoors Collection for Fall 2015 from China Glaze to share with you. I actually thought I had already posted this collection but I found it sitting in my drafts yesterday and was like :O

For Fall this year China Glaze mixed it up a little with cremes, shimmers and some great duochromes. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Cabin Fever is a rusty red to orange/gold duochrome. This looks great both out in the sun and in the shade since the color shift is visible in both types of lighting. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

Change Your Altitude is a light grey creme. The formula was really nice, it was creamy and smooth to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Check Out The Silver Fox is a metallic silver foil. The formula was good, it had great opacity and was easy to apply. Depending on how you apply you'll need 1-2 coats...I used 2.

Shade
Free Bear Hugs is a deep red creme. The formula was great, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I only needed 1 coat for full opacity. It looks a little patchy in photos but I couldn't see that in person.

Gone Glamping is a silvery green to dirty gold duochrome. The color shift in this one is on the subtle side. The formula was ok, it was ok to apply but sheer. I used 3 coats and could still see some nail line in certain lighting.

Shade

Let's Dew It is a steel blue glitter topper. This has a mix of small hex and very tiny micro glitter which gives great coverage. The formula can be tricky to work with, its on the thick side but manageable. I used 1 coat over Change Your Altitude for the photos below.

My Lodge Or Yours is a rosy taupe/brown creme. I'm on the fence with this one, I really like the color but it just doesn't look all that great with my skin tone. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with nice opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Pondering is a dark blue/green/purple duochrome. This is my favorite of the duochromes, it just feels so fall to me. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade

S'more Fun is a greenish yellow creme. This is the oddball of the collection, I like that China Glaze threw a little curve ball into the mix with this shade. Its not for everyone, but I enjoy it. The formula was good, it was a nice consistency...it was a touch streaky but nothing too bad. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Sleeping Under The Stars is a blurple base with a very subtle pink shimmer. The shimmer is more visible in photos than it was in person, unfortunately, but its still very pretty when the light hits it right. The formula was great, it was a tad thick but in a way that made application easy. This could easily be a 1 coater, I used 2 coats in the hopes that the shimmer would come out more (it didn't).

Take A Hike is a dark green creme. You guys know me, I love a good green. I really like what China Glaze did with this one, its dusty...but not. Its muted...but not. I think maybe the little bit of teal this has to it is what is drawing me in . The formula was fantastic, it was easy to apply and the opacity was great. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Wood You Wanna? is a dark brown foil. This is an interesting shade, it almost leans purple. The formula was great, it was a good consistency and had great opacity. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

The Great Outdoors Collection is available at stores like Ulta and Sally Beauty. Price varies depending on where you buy from. My picks from the collection are Take A Hike and Pondering. I also really like My Lodge Or Yours even though it doesn't look that good on me.

  1. Great prices on China Glaze at Head2Toe Beauty. Wish I had known that before I spent $6 for each bottle of the 2015 Halloween collection from Sally's.

  5. I really love this collection!
I bought Cabin Fever and Gone Glamping, I intend to wear them over black. I think the duochrome effect is more visible this way. S'More Fun is beautful, I may pick it later cause it's hard to get a yellow polish that is easy to work with.
    Beautiful swatches!
