Nine Zero Halloween 2015 Trio Swatches & Review

Hi guys, hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was good, yesterday I went and saw my Grandma which was nice. She moved to an assisted living place a couple of weeks ago and I haven't been able to go visit until yesterday so it was good to see her! Today I have the Halloween Trio from Nine Zero Lacquer to share with you. The presale for these just ended but they should be available again on Friday 10/9! Check out all the swatches after the jump.

Candy Pillowcase is a white crelly with green, red, orange, yellow and black glitter. There are all sorts of shapes, everything from triangles to small bar glitter and hex glitter. I love the name of this, it totally takes me back to when I was a kid and my trick or treat bag on Halloween was the HUGE king size pillow case from my parents bed haha. The formula was good, it wasn't thick and application was easy. It was more opaque than I was expecting, usually I need 3 coats of polishes like these but I only needed 2 with this one. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Holo-Ween is orange & holographic micro glitter in an orange tinted jelly base. The formula was good, it was sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second coat. This does have a ton of glitter but it doesn't make the formula thick or difficult to work with. This did dry with some texture so you'll likely need a couple coats of top coat to smooth it out. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below. I do want to mention that removal with this (and pretty much any polish like it) was a little difficult, you'll want to either use a peel off base coat or you'll want to use the foil method to remove this one.

Swamp Thing is a yellow toned green with gold flakes of shimmer/glitter. I love this one, I was hoping Jess would do an awesome green like this and man..is it good! Most greens like this with gold shimmer just have regular shimmer so the flakes of shimmer in this really sets it apart for me. The formula was good, it was sheer on the first coat but built easily. Depending on how you polish you'll need 2-3 coats, I only needed 2. I had no staining with this but Jess did mention that it can stain without a base coat.

Nine Zero Lacquer is available at ninezerolacquer.com, the trio will be available again on Friday the 9th. Make sure to follow Nine Zero on Instagram or Facebook for restock updates!

  3. Hi Jen - did Swamp Thing remove easily? I can usually deal with getting some flakies off but microglitter can be a pain.
