Contrary Polish Coloring Outside the Lines Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend and Halloween! Mine was good...and busy. I'm actually glad its time to go back to work just to get away from the crazy of my personal life this weekend. Today I have a new Contrary Polish collection called Coloring Outside The Lines. This collection is inspired by crayon shades. I think the inspiration is fun since coloring has turned into such a big trend recently. All 6 shades in the collection are jellies filed with color shifting flakies! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Demented Denim is a blue jelly with flakies that shift between orange and green. The formula was good, it was a touch thick but in a way that made application easy. The opacity was also good, I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shade

Exotic Eggplant is a dusty purple with blue shimmer and flakies. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer/patchy on the first coat but completely opaque and evened out in 2 coats. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shade

Extreme Outer Space is a dark teal that leans a little green with multicolored shimmer and flakies. This is my personal favorite of the collection, the base color is gorgeous and all the multicolored flakies give it a ton of sparkle. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shade

Magical Manatee is a light grey toned lavender with blue green flakies. I really enjoy this one also, the color of the base against the flakies is really striking...it would also be a great work neutral with a fun pop! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency but a little bit sheer. The opacity built easily and was opaque in 3 coats. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shade
Modern Maroon is a ruby red base with gold/orange/red flakies. The flakies in this one are more noticeable in person than in photos...because the red is so saturated my camera couldn't capture them as well as I wished it would have. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had really nice opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Shade

Perplexing Plum is a pink toned purple with blue green flakies and shimmer. The formula was good, it was sheer but built easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

  2. So pretty! These are sneaky in a good way..., at first glance at the overall pic I didn't see the flakies but in the closeups, wow. Quite unique IMO and I don't think I have anything like these, especially as 2-coaters. Loving that teal green especially! Thank you!

  3. I have Magical Manatee and love it. I'm a sucker for green flakies.
