These new 2.0 versions are similar in feeling but overall more creme looking (the previous ones were cremes but had a little squish to them lol) they are also much more saturated and bright! This collection along with another collection of neons that I'll have swatches of soon will be available starting tomorrow, May 1st over at the Different Dimension shop which is linked at the end of the post. Serum No. 5 May 2015 Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the next one and done polish from Serum No. 5 to share with you. May 2015 will be available starting May 1st over on the Serum No. 5 shop. It's a minty blue green base with pink, white and silver glitter and it glows bright green in the dark. The glow is super strong with this one, the color sans glow is so girly and dainty that I wasn't expecting such a strong glow for some reason! The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below, depending on how you polish you could probably get away with 2 coats.

May 2015 will  be available at http://serumno5.com starting May 1st. This is a one and done batch so get it while you can because once its gone its gone for good!

Love Angeline Laven-Dearly Beloved Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was good, Saturday it was all cloudy and rainy here so I took the time to get some shopping done since I usually don't have time on the weekends because of blog stuff. Then on Sunday #NailGlossip happened on Twitter and we chatted all about under rated indies, it was such a fun chat...however my wallet is hurting now, I have so many indies I want to buy from now! One of the indies mentioned in the chat was Love Angeline, I recently received a bottle of their polish from Harlow & Co so I thought it would be a good time to post it since it's been in my drafts for a couple weeks.

The polish I have to share with you today from Love Angeline is called Laven-Dearly Beloved. It is a dusty lavender with a subtle scattered holo. This polish is a Harlow & Co exclusive shade! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below!

Love Angeline is available at http://www.loveangeline.com. Laven-Dearly Beloved is available only at Harlow & Co and it retails for $14.50.

Harlow & Co Mani Bomb Review

Happy Friday! I have to say, I am really glad its Friday...it's been  a stressful week because of some issues I've been having at my condo, so I'm glad to have a couple days to relax! Today I have a mani bomb from Harlow & Co to share with you! I feel like mani bombs have been a hot new item in our little nail world so I'm excited to have gotten the chance to see what all the hype is about.

Mani bombs are fizzies that you put into a bowl of warm water for your hands or a warm foot bath for feet. They are like little treats for your hands or feet, full of nourishing oils that are super moisturizing and a great way to relax and let go of whatever stress you are dealing with! If you've ever tried a bath bomb from Lush these are similar but with more cuticle friendly oils and the like! You can break these up into pieces to get multiple uses out of one mani bomb or even use a couple and have like the most moisturizing bath of your life.

I decided to give my mani bomb a spin after a long weekend of swatching. My fingers always need serious TLC after that so I thought it would be the perfect time to pamper them. I filled a bowl with warm water and the let fizzy do its thing before soaking my hands for about 15 minutes. After the soak I let them air dry and rubbed in the oils. After my hands were dry and the oils soaked in I put on a nice lotion to lock everything in.

What I loved about this mani bomb from Harlow & Co is that there were little bits of flowers that came out to play as the mani bomb dissolved. They made the water so pretty!

I gotta say, I get why these have become so popular. It was such a nice way to pamper my hands and relax. I can see myself using these more often when I just need to have me time or when my hands are especially tired looking from swatching and whatnot!

Harlow & Co Mani Bombs are available here. They retail for $2.50 each and are available in several scents!  I'm excited to try out more scents of the Harlow mani bombs! If you guys have any recommendations for great mani bombs please let me know in the comments!

I really love this first part of SS15, maybe its because I swatched these in the middle of a neon polish weekend but the softness of these is just really doing it for me! Orly Epix Such A Critic Swatch, Review & Wear Test

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, mine was pretty good. I didn't really do much other than nail/blog stuff! Today I have Such A Critic from Orly's Epix system to share with you. This is another one of the gel/polish hybrid systems that promises long wear by using their polish and special top coat. I believe Orly sells this as a week of wear and that its quick dry, the package I got says 8 minutes. I picked this up at the same time as the Ever Glaze polishes I reviewed a few days ago. The Epix system is a 2 step process, a color and top coat that cures with natural light. There is no base coat or prep step for this.

The shade I got was Such A Critic, its a bright almost neon purple creme. The store I found these at had these available in sets with 1 coat and the top coat along with all the colors on their own. It was cheaper to buy the set so this was the color that stood out the most to me of what was available. Unfortunately while the color is pretty it isn't really what I was expecting. What I didn't realize when I bought this was that the bottle color isn't really *that* accurate to what the polish looks like...it's like a photo of it or something. Not sure if there is a reason for that but I'm not a fan.

The formula was alright, it was a nice consistency but more sheer than I expected. I used 3 coats for full opacity. After a few minutes I added on the top coat and went outside so it could dry in the sunlight. For the most part I liked the top coat but when I woke up the day after applying this I noticed that it seemed to react strangely on my middle nail...it got all rippled. You can see what I mean in the day 3 photo below.

Below is my mani after 3 days, the top coat had dulled and I had noticeable tip wear but no chipping. You can see the rippling I mentioned in the first photo below. The box that this came in said that on day 3 you should reapply the top coat, so thats what I did after taking the photo below.

Below is how the polish looked after reapplying the top coat. I was happy to see that it  totally smoothed out the ripples. While I was happy about the shine being back I would recommend NOT reapplying the top coat. About 2 hours after application my polish started peeling up at the edges, since it wasn't happening at all prior to the new coat of top coat I'm assuming that was the cause. It was making the polish come off in sheets so I ended up removing the whole manicure that night.

Overall this gets a meh from me, I'm not impressed with the wear and I don't like that the color of the bottle doesn't accurately show the color of the polish. I was pretty disappointed by how the top coat dulled, even though that seems to be common with these systems. I was also kinda upset that reapplying the top coat as the directions said to caused the mani to be ruined. Needless to say I won't be buying more of these, sorry Orly.

As far as I know the Epix system is available now, however I couldn't find it on the Sally Beauty or Ulta website so I don't know if they are in their stores or not. I did find a bunch of listings on Amazon though, the prices ranged from $16-$22

Girly Bits Snafu Swatch & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have a gorgeous polish from Girly Bits to share with you called Snafu. This polish is a collaboration with Nicole of Nail Polish Wars for her 3 year blogiversary! Snafu is an ivory nude base with a subtle holo, golden shimmer and blue iridescent flakies. This polish is pretty darn awesome, I promise you photos do it no justice! You can't even see the flakies in photos and thats probably my favorite part of the polish haha! This is such a gorgeous neutral holo, if you need an office appropriate shade with a pop of awesome this is a great one!

The formula was good, it was a touch on the thick side but in a good way that makes application easy. The opacity was also good, better than I was expecting! I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Girly Bits is available at http://www.girlybitscosmetics.com for $13 (CAD), you can also find Girly Bits at a bunch of etailers from all over the world and a few brick & mortar shops, for a list of all of them check out http://www.girlybitscosmetics.com/store-locator/

5 Year Blogiversary Giveaway!

Hi guys! Guess what today is, it's my 5 year blogiversary...yup. I've been at this for a long time, I feel like I say it every year but I'm always surprised that I'm still at it and it still doesn't feel like a chore. I'm so bad at sticking with things that I thought I'd blog for like 6 months and then move on to the next thing! I think its because the community is so great and I've met so many friends through it that I never really get tired of polish or writing about it! It seems like this last year personally has been crazy with buying a condo and then all the stuff that has gone with that, it's been nice to have my blog to be able to focus on when all of that has been crazy.

Anyway, enough rambling! To celebrate I have a little giveaway for you guys! I have an extra set of OPI's Spring 2015 Hawaii Collection to giveaway!

To enter use the Rafflecopter widget below. The giveaway is open internationally. 1 entry per person! The giveaway ends on 4/22/15 at midnight PST, I will email the winner after the giveaway ends and they have 72 hours to respond before a new winner is picked!

Good luck everyone!

Ever Glaze by China Glaze Case of the Mondaze Swatch, Review & Wear Test

Hi guys! Today I have a review of the new Ever Glaze system made by China Glaze to share with you! I picked up a few polishes from the line at my local beauty supply a couple weeks ago! Ever Glaze is meant to be a long wearing polish much like the gel-polish hybrids done by other brands (Vinylux, Infinite Shine, Miracle Gel... etc). It's a 3 step system made up of a prep coat, the polish and the top coat.

The Prep was what I thought was going to be a base coat but it ended up being some kind of nail dehydrator, it gets rid of all of the oil on the nail bed which in theory should help your polish last longer. Next I put on my Case of the Mondaze which is a gorgeous cobalt blue, I couldn't resist it when I saw it! The formula was ok, I found it to be a bit sheer and though it did build it took 3 coats for full opacity. I did not have staining with this polish even though a base coat was not used, I was a little worried about that when I applied the polish. After about 5 minutes I went back with the top coat, it's in a blackened bottle and cures with natural light, no need for a lamp or anything like that. I had no issues with the top coat dragging off the color like I have with other systems like this so that was a nice surprise!

Below is my nails on Day 4, unfortunately this system didn't really wear very well for me. The top coat had lost its shine and started to look scuffed up by Day 3. I didn't have any issues with chipping but I did get a bit of tip wear even though I wrapped my tips with both the color and top coat. I don't know what it is with these gel-polish hybrid top coats but seriously all of them get dull on me really quickly :(

Overall these are ok, they might wear better for other people but for me I get better wear out of regular polish with my regular base and top coat. The selection of colors is nice for the line, I picked up a few more that I'll post eventually. Case Of The Mondaze while gorgeous was disappointing in the formula department, I have too many other cobalt blues with great formulas that this isn't one I'd grab for again.

Ever Glaze is available now, it's on http://www.sallybeauty.coml for $8.99 a bottle, however I don't know if its in stores (haven't seen it in mine yet).

Different Dimension Saber That; May 2015 A Box Indied

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, mine was pretty good! I ended up going to the Pet Expo on Friday after work. Only ended up coming home with a new toy for Degen...though I would have loved to come home with kittens and puppies too haha!

Today I have another polish from the May 2015 Star Wars themed A Box Indied to share with you. This polish is called Saber That and its from Different Dimension. Saber That is a light but bright green with a subtle holo that glows bright blueish green in the dark. The shade is pretty awesome and I love that fact that it glows, perfect given the inspiration! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. it does dry a little bit matte, I used 2 coats plus top coat for my photos.

A Box Indied is available at Llarowe.com, the May box will launch on April 26th!

Contrary Polish Slavegirl Bikini; May 2015 A Box Indied

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans for this weekend? I'm not sure what I'll be doing, there is a big pet expo show at the OC Fairgrounds this weekend that I'm thinking about going to. I'm always torn on going to it because on 1 hand I like to see all the cute animals but on the other hand it makes me sad because there are so many animals there that need homes and I wish I could help them all.

Today I have the Contrary Polish contribution to the May 2015 A Box Indied. The theme for May is "May The Forth Be With You" aka Star Wars! Contrary Polish's shade is called Slavegirl Bikini and its inspired by Leia bikini in Return of the Jedi. Slavegirl Bikini is a blood red jelly base with gold shimmer and gold based holographic shimmer. Photos really do nothing for this shade, the way it sparkles out in the sun is pretty much impossible to capture.

The formula was good, I really enjoyed the consistency of it and it was easy to apply. I used 3 coats for the photos below. Carrie from Contrary Polish is tweaking the formula a little bit so most likely the final version that ends up in the box will be a 2 coater instead of a 3 coater!

A Box Indied is available at Llarowe.com, the May box will launch on April 26th!

piCture pOlish Minty Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for you of piCture pOlish Minty. Minty is a collaboration shade with La Paillette Frondeuse and its a milky mint green base with a sprinkle of red and white hex glitter. The glitter is much more obvious in person, this was no easy polish to capture since my camera tends to have issues with mint polishes! The formula was good, it was sheer but buildable and easy to work with. I used 3 coats for the photos below

Literary Lacquer Lurid Fog Swatch & Review

Happy Friday! The good news is that its Friday, for me the bad news is that my AC that I told you guys about the other day...well its dead. The repair guy came out and tried to fix it and unforunately it's just not possible so now it has to be replaced. Apparently the unit was like 30 years old (not exaggerating lol) so I can't say I'm too surprised that it crapped out on me. Now I'm over here waiting and hoping that the home warranty company will pay for it. I swear it is just one thing after another breaking at my place, at least there really isn't much left that can break so *hopefully* this is the last of it.

Today I have a gorgeous polish from Literary Lacquer to share with you called Lurid Fog. This polish was designed by Jen of xoxo, Jen. Lurid Fog is a grey linear holo with a purple shimmer. The shimmer was a bit stronger in person than my camera could capture it. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second.

Literary Lacquer is available at https://www.etsy.com/shop/LiteraryLacquer, Lurid Fog retails for $12!

piCture pOlish Paris Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Sorry for the lack of posts this week. Long story short, my AC decided to die over the weekend so I've been busy carting around myself and Degen to my parents house to enjoy their AC. It's been hot here over the weekend and so far this week so its been like a good 85 degrees in my house...ugh. Good news is I have a company coming out to look at it today, hopefully they'll fix it. I'm a little worried that I need to get a new AC unit because the one in there looks like its old as heck. Fingers crossed that's not the case...or that its something that the warranty from the previous owner covers!

On to the polish...today I have Paris from piCture pOlish to share with you. This polish is a collaboration with QuicheGirl and its a coral/pink bijou holo. I love how stinking cute the bottle is for this collab! The formula was good, its a touch sheer but opaque in 2 coats. You can see some nail line in the photos but I couldn't see it in person. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

piCture pOlish can be found at www.picturepolish.com.au, they also have etailers all over the world, for a full list check out http://picturepolish.com.au/network
