Fair Maiden Polish Color4Nails Exclusive LE Duo

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was good, I got some pretty awesome rainbow-y knobs in the mail that felt like I had been waiting ages for and attached them to my boring Malm dresser from Ikea. I gotta say, it looks pretty awesome now plus I don't almost break a nail when I try to open it.

Today I have a duo from Fair Maiden Polish to share with you guys. This duo is limited edition and exclusive to Color4Nails. I was pretty excited when this showed up in the mail, not only because they are gorgeous but because Fair Maiden is a brand I've had on my list to try for a little while now. I've heard great things about the brand and I love that the ladies behind the brand are besties who share this kind of passion (it gave me all the feels when I heard that, I'm a sap...I know.)

First up is Purplexed, this is a violet purple with a linear holo and aqua micro flakies. The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and applied really smoothly with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Tauplexed is a taupe with a linear holo with a little touch of golden shimmer. The formula was great on this one also, it had a really smooth consistency that was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

This LE Fair Maiden Polish duo is only available at http://color4nails.com/, each polish retails for $11.50. Color4Nails also carries a nice selection of Fair Maiden's other shades!

Literary Lacquer The Ultimate Answer Swatch & Review

Happy Friday! Today I have a special polish from Literary Lacquer called The Ultimate Answer to share with you. This polish is a very limited edition polish that will only be available for the next couple of days (August 28- August 30).

The Ultimate Answer was created by Amy of Literary Lacquer to celebrate her birthday this year. The name comes from The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy and the answer is how old Amy turned this year. Gotta love how that worked out, right?

The base of The Ultimate Answer is a peacock green, it has a subtle linear holo, small holographic bits of glitter and holographic silver star glitter. The formula was good, its sheer but buildable. I did have to fish a bit for the stars but they are plentiful and fairly easy to grab. I used 2 coats for the photos below, you can see some nail line in the photos but I couldn't see it in real life.

The Ultimate Answer will be available for a very limited time, from today August 28th to August 30th. Literary Lacquer can be found at https://www.etsy.com/shop/LiteraryLacquer

Literary Lacquer If It Pleases You Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have If It Pleases You from Literary Lacquer to share with you. This shade was named after the book The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice. It's a dark plum with a touch of brown. This has a nice linear holo that comes to life out in the sun and in bright indoor lighting. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but completely opaque with the second coat.

Literary Lacquer is available at https://www.etsy.com/shop/LiteraryLacquer, If It Pleases You retails for $12!

OPI Fall 2015 Venice Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the Fall 2015 Venice Collection from OPI to share with you! In total there are 15 polishes in the collection, I have the main 12 for you today! The other 3 are limited edition shades and I'll be posting them sometime next week. The Venice Collection is inspired by Baroque period decadence according to OPI. I was a bit surprised by the collection because a lot of the colors feel more Spring to me, I do like that OPI is mixing it up a bit though. Fall and Winter are my favorite polish seasons for the dark, vampy shades, but I do like a nice light palette cleanser every now and then and this collection offers up a bit of both of those. Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Smitten Polish Ice Pop Paradise Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a gorgeous polish from Smitten Polish to share with you! This is my first time trying out Smitten, though they have been on my need to try list for a while! When I saw swatches of this one it finally pushed me over the edge and I made an order!

Ice Pop Paradise is a purple toned blue with blue/green flakies. This is a bit of a chameleon, indoors it tends to look purple but outdoors and in the shade it leans very much towards blue. a little skunky. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer but it built easily. This does have a bit of skunky smell to it, most likely caused by the pigment used (a lot of blues and purples smell skunky!). I used 3 coats for the photos below!

Smitten Polish is available at http://smittenpolish.bigcartel.com, Ice Pop Paradise retails for $11.50

Crème à la Mode Box Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was no bueno for the most part. You know how on Friday I was saying I was so excited to spend the weekend in my nice AC? Well, it died...again. I swear its like groundhog day at my place with my AC...right when you think its fixed its like LOLNO and dies. My Dad thinks that the problem this time is a slow leak in the line for coolant that goes from the compressor to the unit in my house since its literally the only part of the entire unit that hasn't been replaced at this point. Hopefully its an easy fix, however knowing my luck with this it won't be.

Enough of that...on to polish! Today I have the Crème à la Mode Box to share with you. This is a brand new box with contributions from 4 indies brands each offering up a creme shade. This is going to be a quarterly box with on trend creme polishes for the season, the theme for this first box is Fall. I was pretty excited to try this out, not only because I love cremes but because 2 of the brands in the box are ones I haven't had a chance to try but that I've heard great things about! The 4 brands in this box are Digital Nails, Literary Lacquers, Octopus Party Nail Lacquer and Indigo Bananas! Check out all the swatches after the jump, buying info is at the very end of the post!

Serum No. 5 Opposites Attract; September 2015 A Box Indied

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans for this weekend? It's supposed to be pretty hot where I live this weekend so I'm hoping to get some polish stuff done then enjoy the AC (now that it finally works lol)! Today I have Serum No. 5 Opposites Attract to share with you! This polish is part of the September 2015 A Box Indied. The theme of the September box is makers doing polishes different from what they typically do. Since Serum is known for her glow in the dark polishes she made a gorgeous holo that doesn't glow. I think its fun to see makers known for certain finishes stepping outside of their box a little!

Opposites Attract is a black base with a linear holo. The holo is easily visible out in the sun but its not so holo that it distorts the base color. Hopefully that makes sense, sometimes holos are so holo that you can't actually tell what color they are since all you see is rainbows. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and it had a good consistency and opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Opposites Attract is exclusive to the September 2015 A Box Indied which will be available from Llarowe.com starting August 26th.

Pahlish ? (Mystery Shade) Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a mystery polish from Pahlish to share with you! Since I'm a Pahlish newbie I've been picking up a mystery polish when I'm placing an order for something else from her store. I think its fun to get a surprise, sometimes you end up with really awesome polishes for a great price since they are a few dollars cheaper than her normal polishes. I gotta say I was like whoa when I was opening my last Pahlish order and saw this as my mystery shade, it is SO gorgeous. It's something I would have happily bought at the price of the normal Pahlish shades so getting it for a few dollars off was a total win!

This doesn't have a "real" name, the label just has a ?, it's a really pretty dark/medium purple with a subtle linear holo and iridescent flakes of glitter. The flakes of glitter aren't super visible, only showing themselves in the shade and even barely poking through then. The holo is nice, not too crazy but not too subtle either! The formula was great, it was easy to apply and had a nice consistency and opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Pahlish is available at http://pahlish.bigcartel.com/, her mystery shades are $6.50 each. If you like a fun nail polish surprise I suggest picking one of these up (or several haha)!

Check out all the swatches after the jump.

Pretty Serious Morning Java Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Today I have Pretty Serious Morning Java to share with you. Thought a shade with that kind of name would be appropriate for a Monday post haha! This shade was originally released in the debut Pretty Serious collection back in 2012 and it was recently re-released which I couldn't be more happy about it since I missed it when it was originally out.

Morning Java is a gorgeous brown with golden shimmer that sparkles pink and green also depending on how the light hits it. This is a totally me kinda color, I'm a big fan of brown polish. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Morning Java is available at http://www.pretty-serious.com, it retails for $9.95!

Girly Bits Let's Do This Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have Girly Bits Let's Do This to share with you! This polish was a collaboration with Jen of The Jedi Wife for her 3 year blogiversary. Let's Do This is an interesting shade, it's a rusty orange with a subtle scattered holo along with flakies and red micro glitter. I can't say that I have anything quite like this in my stash. Unfortunately it's being retired though, so if you like this I'd suggest grabbing it quick before it sells out!

The formula was really nice, it was easy to apply and had a good consistency and nice opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Shade
Girly Bits is available at http://www.girlybitscosmetics.com, like I mentioned this shade is being retired so once it sells out its gone forever!

Japanese Moon Melon is a cobalt blue base with white flakes of glitter. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but opaque with the second. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
