Girly Bits Stardust Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend! Mine was good, got a ton of blog stuff done and did a few home projects that were on my list since I bought the place. My Dad came over and we put new weather striping around the front door and put a new peephole in since the old one was so scratched you couldn't see out of it. Feels good to finally cross those off the to do list.

Today I have Stardust from Girly Bits to share with you. This polish is one of the newest blogger collaborations from Girly Bits, it was made with Ehmkay Nails. Stardust is a silvery blue scattered holo with sprinkles of tiny pink, blue and green matte glitter. I love the addition of matte micro glitter, I feel like I haven't seen something quite like this before. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but completely opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below. This dry dry with some texture so you'll need a couple coats of top coat to completely smooth it out.

Stardust is available at http://www.girlybitscosmetics.com, it retails for $9.84 USD

KBShimmer Mod Floral Water Slide Decals Review

Hi guys! Today I have some KBShimmer Water Slide Decals to share with you. Water Slide decals are a relatively new addition to the KBShimmer shop, they carry a ton of different designs. The design I have today is called Mod Floral and its a bold floral print on a black background.

Water Slide decals are designs that come on a backing paper, you cut out the design/decal you want to use and submerge it in water for a few seconds and the design slides right off the backing. You can use them alone but I found that this design was better over a white base so that the colors really popped that way. Once you slide the decal off the backing and put it on your nail you can slide it around on the nail to get it where you want it, then you apply top coat and the top coat fuses it with the base color. To clean up I used acetone on an eyeliner brush but you could use a q-tip and regular polish remover...whatever you have on hand!

There is a little learning curve with using these but overall they are pretty easy and the results are beautiful! This was my first try with these and I learned quickly to wait until everything was 100% dry to clean up anything on the skin. If you don't it can pull off the decal...you can see what I mean on my pinky finger. Wear wise these weren't great for me, I found that I had a lot of tip wear for some reason. The decal was wearing off but not the white polish underneath...it was odd.

The best way I found to dip the decals in the water (or fish them out if you just throw them in) was with tweezers. It makes it easier to position them on your nail and move the decal around. I used the Rainbow Finish Slant Tip Tweezers below for that. These are also available at KBShimmer's shop. They have 3 other rainbow tools available right now and I need them all in my life!

KBShimmer Water Slide Decals are available at KBShimmer.com, they retail for $2.95. The Rainbow Finish Slat Tip Tweezers are also available at KBShimmer.com, they retail for $8.95.

For international buyers you can find KBShimmer at Harlow & Co, it doesn't look like she carries the water slide decals but she does have all the rainbow tools.

Serum No. 5 Endora's Aura; October 2015 A Box Indied

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, mine was ok for the most part. My birthday was good, I celebrated with my family and got to finally try an awesome ice cream place I've been wanting to go to called Afters. They have interesting flavors and you can get the ice cream in what they call a Milky Bun, pretty much its like a donut. It was pretty much amazing, if you live in Orange County I recommend going...but go early because every time I've tried to go there after like 8pm the line has been absolutely insane.

Anyway, today I have the Serum No. 5 contribution to the October 2015 A Box Indied to share with you. The theme for the box is all holo! Serum No. 5's polish for this box is called Endora's Aura and its a purple holo. The holo is linear and a bit stronger in person than in photos. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer on the first coat but completely opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

A Box Indied is available at Llarowe.com, the October box will be available on September 26th.

Contrary Polish Leather Anniversary Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have 4 new polishes from Contrary Polish to share with you. Carrie made these in celebration of Contrary Polishe's 3rd birthday which was back in July. Traditionally the gift for a 3rd anniversary is Leather so Carrie took that theme and ran with 2 cremes inspired by purses and 2 shimmery top coats to go over them an represent the purse hardware.

Crossbody is a medium grey creme. The formula was fantastic, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with awesome opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below, but you could probably get way with 1 coat.

Gunmetal Hardware is a silvery grey shimmer topper meant to be worn over Crossbody. I'm really excited for this topper, not only does it look great over Crossbody but it will be awesome over a ton of base colors. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good shimmer payoff. I used 1 coat over Crossbody.

Satchel is a brown toned taupe creme. This has a little bit of a green tone to it also which I'm also a fan of. The formula was great, just like Crossbody it had fantastic opacity and was easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Gold Hardware is a gold shimmer topper. I love this one for the same reasons as Gunmetal Hardware...it is just so perfect to add a little sparkle to a mani. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and had good shimmer payoff. I used 1 coat over Satchel

Shade

Contrary Polish is available at http://www.contrarypolish.com, you can get these in mini or full size. Prices range from $5-$10!

ILNP Fall 2015 Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Hope you all had a nice weekend, its actually still my weekend since I have the day off for Labor Day! I had a pretty productive weekend so far though which has been pretty nice. I decided to turn the closet in my office/nail polish room into a place to put a lightbox. I've been meaning to make a lightbox for AGES but have never really had a place to put it until now. I moved over 3 Helmers I still had at my parents place and built the lightbox. I'm probably not going to use it much since I prefer sunlight but it'll be nice to have in case we have a stretch of crappy weather.

Anyway, today I have the ILNP Fall 2015 Collection to share with you! This collection is pretty massive, so this post is picture heavy after the cut. There are all the finishes that ILNP is so great at in this collection, some strong holos, some ultra holos, a couple ultra chrome flakies and a couple multichrome polishes. These are available right now for preorder, which saves you $1 a bottle, if you plan on buying a few thats a great deal! Check out all the swatches after the jump!

Serum No. 5 September 2015 Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have Serum No. 5 September 2015 to share with you. This is the next one and done polish from Serum No. 5 and its available starting today! I kinda can't believe it's already September, this year is going way to fast.

September 2015 is a charcoal black/grey base with a subtle holo and multi chrome flakies. This is a really pretty shade with a ton going on, it looks good both in bright lighting and in lower lighting. Not only that but it also looks good in the dark because it glows aqua blue. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. It does dry a little matte so you'll want to use a nice top coat over it. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

September 2015 is available starting today at SerumNo5.com this is a one and done polish so once its gone its gone for good!
