2015 Most Viewed Mainstream and Indie Posts

Hi guys! Happy last day of 2015, crazy how quick this year went! For me 2015 was the year I really grew up. It was the best and worst year for me personally. My home pretty much went to hell with everything breaking which was such a frustrating and difficult thing to deal with. On the upside I learned how to get shit done and everything is fixed now and Degen and I are enjoying having our own space. At times it made me put swatching and blog related things on the back burner but everything has turned out for the best now! I'm looking forward to everything that 2016 brings me!

I thought it would be fun to show you guys my top 5 most viewed posts for 2015 both for indie and niche brand and mainstream brands. I always think its interesting to see what gets the most views. It helps me figure out what I should post most or less.

Please let me know in the comments what you'd like to see more or less of in 2016 here at The PolishAholic. Maybe there is an indie brand I've never reviewed that you think I'd love, maybe you'd like to see more nail art since I rarely blog the nail art I do...whatever it is I'd love to know!

Check out the most popular posts of 2015 after the jump, also if you missed any of the posts on these lists you can re-visit them by clicking the name of the collection!

Top 25 Favorite Polishes of 2015

Hi guys! Today I have my favorite polishes of 2015 to share with you! I always enjoy putting these together because it gives me a chance to rediscover polishes I've loved throughout the year and haven't worn in a while. Usually I have 2 of these posts, one for indies and one for mainstream brands. This year however indies really stole my heart....since only a couple mainstream polishes made the cut this year I've decided to just do 1 post! In case you're wondering these aren't in order of how much I love them (I don't think I could do that lol). Links for all of the brands included in this post will be at the end of the post! Check out all my picks after the jump!

Cupcake Polish Berry Good Looking Swatch & Review

Hi guys! Today I have a quick post for ya because I'm a busy bee making cookies and was too much of a procrastinator to edit photos for collections :P We're having a baking day at work so everyone is bringing cookies or other baked treats that they made. I'm brining a bunch of cookies, I made chocolate crinkle cookies, hot cocoa cookies, gingerbread men and snickerdoodles. yum!

Today I have Berry Good Looking from Cupcake Polish to share with you! This polish was on my wishlist for agesssssss and I just finally got around to picking it up during Cupcake Polish's Black Friday sale last month. Berry Good Looking is a super vibrant purple holo. This was making my camera a little crazy, it couldn't handle the awesome. The formula was great, it was very smooth and easy to apply with great opacity. I would recommend a couple coats of base coat with this or it will stain, also be careful with removal or you'll have hot pink cuticles (I found that out the hard way, you're welcome). I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Cupcake Polish is available at http://cupcakepolish.bigcartel.com, Berry Good Looking retails for $13

Hello Kitty by OPI Collectors Edition Box Giveaway

Hi guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was eventful to say the least. It started out normal on Saturday until I came home from dropping off Degen at my parents house to find smoke billowing out of a condo next to the parking lot. Apparently the lady who lives there tried to put out a grease fire with water and POOF went her kitchen. 3 fire trucks later it was out, no one was hurt thankfully but it was a heck of a way to start out the day since I was calling 911 then running back and forth through the complex trying to direct the firefighters to the unit. After that I made a ton of cookies and my new mattress FINALLY got delivered!

Anyway...today I have a GIVEAWAY for ya! Its been a hot minute since I did a giveaway and I've been wanting to do one, I just haven't found anything I've liked enough to do a giveaway for! Yesterday I was shopping at my local nail supply and looking at the OPI x Hello Kitty Collection, the collection has a bunch of super cute gift sets  and I came across the Collectors Edition box and was drawn to it.

The box comes with 6 full size polishes and little back drops that you can set up so that the box turns into a polish display! Thats what I liked the most about this, if you like to display your polish or are a Hello Kitty fan I think the idea of this is a great one. OPI did a fantastic job with branding this whole collection in my opinion.

Heres a closer look at the polishes included in the set. The little circles below the polishes are where you sit the bottles if you want to use the box as a display.

The back has descriptions for each color and shows the different back drops that come in the box.

So there is it, how stinkin' cute is this set?!? I almost bought one for myself too but resisted (I might go back for one, who knows!)

Painted Polish Holiday 2015 Classic Christmas Collection Swatches & Review

press sample

Hi guys, hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was ok, ended up feeling much better but overall it was a stressful weekend. My Grandma moved to a retirement community about 3 months ago and someone came into her room a few days ago while she was at lunch and stole all of her jewelry. The whole thing is pretty upsetting, we think it was an employee of the facility since all employees have keys that can open every door. Luckily its all electronic so the facility is getting to the bottom of it with the local police. Hopefully my Grandma gets at least some of her jewelry back, a lot of it was very special to her and from her parents and my Grandpa. I will never understand how people can be so vile, preying on the elderly like that....especially if they are in fact employed by the facility.

Anyway, onto polish! Today I have the Classic Christmas Collection from Painted Polish to share with you! This collection is a mix of the great micro glitters Painted Polish is known for plus a couple of crelly glitters which Painted Polish hasn't done in a while! Check out the swatches after the jump!

Pretty Serious Absence / Presence Swatches & Review

Happy Friday! Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? I'm supposed to go visit my Grandma but not so sure that's gonna have because I'm a little under the weather :( Today I have another 2 cremes from Pretty Serious to share with you. These are their own little duo called Absence/Presence and they are a really nicely formulated black and white creme.

Absence is a pure black creme. The formula was fantastic, it was a great consistency and had perfect opacity. I used 1 coat for the photos below.

Presence is a bright white creme. The formula was really nice, it was a good consistency and applied easier than a lot of other whites I've tried. I've heard from a ton of people that this is a 1 coat white but I had some slight streakiness in the first coat so I ended up needing a second coat to even it out.  I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Absence and Presence are both available at http://www.pretty-serious.com, they retail for $9.95 AUD each.

Contrary Polish Ch-Ch-Changes; December 2015 A Box Indied Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have Ch-Ch-Changes from Contrary Polish to share with you. This is their contribution to the December 2015 A Box Indied. A Box Indied has been revamped and it relaunching this month with some new brands joining in! The December box will be available today and tomorrow (12/1 & 12/2) for preorder on the Llarowe site, which is linked at the end of the post.

Ch-Ch-Changes is a purple-y taupe to dark grey thermal with a bit of shimmer and holo sprinkled in. This is actually Contrary Polish's first ever thermal which is fun! The formula was good, it was a nice consistency and easy to apply. It starts out on the sheer side but built easily. This dried a touch matte and really comes to life with top coat. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Apologies for the water spotted nails...it's been a little chilly here lately and when I wore this my hands were like ice cubes so it didn't want to change to the warm temperature for me without putting my hand in the warm bowl of water :P

The December 2015 A box Indied will be available for preorder on 12/1 and 12/2 at llarowe.com, the box retails for $50
