OPI Hello Kitty Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys! Today I have the Hello Kitty Collection from OPI to share with you...finally! This 12 piece collection is made up of mostly pinks and red but there are a couple fun pops of color thrown in. The bottles have super cute Hello Kitty wrappers on the brush. There are also a ton of great gift sets for this collection. OPI and Hello Kitty really outdid themselves with the branding of this collection, I wish OPI would do stuff like the did with this collection for every collection! Check out the swatches after the jump!

5 Apples Tall is a red creme. This is kind of a tomato red, it has orange undertones but doesn't lean towards orange (at least not on me). The formula was good, it was smooth and a breeze to apply. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Charmmy & Sugar is a blue/pink shimmery base with small iridescent glitter. You could wear this on its own, it has ok opacity, but I personally didn't care for it that way. The formula was ok, it was a touch on the thick side but if you wear it as a topper you won't have any issues. If you want to wear it on its own you'd need to do thin coats so it doesn't goop up. I used 1 coat plus top coat over Never Have Too Mani Friends! for the photos below.

Kitty White is a shimmery white. I feel like this doesn't look that great in photos but its actually really pretty in person. I'm not usually a fan of these types of polishes but I quite liked this one. The shimmer in person flashes a bit purple and blue. The formula was good, it was sheer but it built easily. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Let's Be Friends is a light white based baby pink creme. The color is nice but I didn't much care for the formula, I found it to be streaky and a bit goopy as it built up opacity. It was ok on the 1st and 2nd coat but when I went to do the 3rd coat to even it out it was kind of a mess. Luckily it was nothing a good top coat couldn't camouflage so it may not be an issue for everyone if you like the color and don't mind the fuss. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Look At My Bow! is a light blue based pink creme. The formula was good, it was a touch streaky but that was minor and leveled out on its own nicely. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

My Pal Joey is a blue creme. This is the standout of the collection for me, no surprise there. Its a beautiful shade of blue and it had a great formula. Don't be surprised if this makes my 2016 favorites, I've already worn it twice! The formula was great, it was easy to apply and had really nice opacity. It was very nearly a 1 coater but there were a couple patchy spots so I ended up doing 2 coats plus top coat for my photos.

My Twin Mimmy is a bright yellow creme. This is a sunny yellow, not a neon yellow, so its a little easier to wear. The formula was a typical fussy yellow kind of formula, it was streaky but it evened out. I needed 3 coats plus top coat to completely level it out and get full opacity.

Never Have Too Mani Friends! is a black creme. I personally can never have enough black cremes since I use them a lot for layering and whatnot but this isn't one I would probably grab for if I was given other choices. The formula was ok for a black, it was a bit patchy on the first coat but completely opaque with 2 coats. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photo below.

Small + Cute = ♥ is a light bubblegum pink creme. This is a little bit darker than Let's Be Friends but not by too much.  The formula was ok, it was streaky but easy to apply. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Spoken From The Heart is a coral creme. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. Depending on you apply you'll either need 2 or 3 coats, I used 2. This dried down a little dull so you'll want to top coat it for shiny goodness.

Starry-Eyed for Dear Daniel is a shimmery pink. These has some blue/purple shimmer and little bits of pink glitter. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Super Cute in Pink is a purple toned pink creme. This was a surprise favorite for me, I don't know what it is about this shade but I really like it. The formula was good, it was a bit of a jelly so it dries nice and shiny with a little squish. It was sheer but easily buildable. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

The OPI Hello Kitty Collection is available now at stores like Ulta, Beauty Brands etc. OPI retails for  $10

  1. Very nice swatches and beautiful collection. Some shades are lovely!

  3. OMG!!! My Pal Joey was the ONLY polish I got from this collection and it is just PERFECT!!!! it is THE most amazing blue Creme in the entire world after Dating a Royal (which will always be my favorite) I will definitely be getting backups of this one

  4. Some vibrant colors in this collection.

  5. I'm just loving this collection! It's my favorite OPI collection in quite some time.
