OPI Spring 2016 New Orleans Collection Swatches & Review

Hi guys. Apologies for the lack of posts this week, my Grandma has been in the hospital since Sunday. She's been really sick and is still very sick but getting a little better every day. Most likely posts will still be very sporadic until she's doing better and I'm not staying with her at the hospital for 12+ hours every day.  I haven't have time or energy to edit photos etc. That's also why there isn't a First Impression Friday today, I have posts lined up for it I just haven't had time to edit the photos yet, hopefully the series will be back next week.

Today I have the OPI New Orleans Collection for Spring 2016 to share with you. This is a 12 piece collection of mostly cremes, but there are a few shimmers in there for good measure. Check out the swatches after the jump.

Crawfishin' for a Compliment is a peachy orange creme. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. It was a little streaky on the first coat but even and opaque with the second. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Got Myself Into a Jam-balaya is a pinky coral creme. The formula was ok, it was on the streaky side but evened out. I used 3 coats to completely even it out.

Humidi-tea is a peachy beige with a subtle shimmer. Unfortunately I don't think this one is that great for my skin tone but on darker or more olive skin tones it could work well. The formula was not my favorite, it was streaky at first but leveled out nicely. My main issue was that it looked a little lumpy when it dried down, even with top coat. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I Manicure For Beads is a purple creme. This is one of my favorites of the collection, I really like the tone of purple and I've worn it a couple times. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

I'm Sooo Swamped is a green creme. You guys know I love a good green and this is a nice one for spring, it's a bit of a grassy green. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Let Me Bayou A Drink is a very very light pink. This is pretty much a white with a tiny drop of pink in it. The formula was ok, it was a little difficult since it is such a light and white based color but the streakiness was minor and was easy to even out. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Rich Girls & Po-Boys is a bright blue creme. The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

She's A Bad Muffaletta is a red creme. For whatever reason this one freaked out my camera so please excuse my skin looking a little odd. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Show Us Your Tips! is a dusty blue with a soft silver shimmer. The shimmer is soft but very noticeable which is always nice. The formula was ok, it was good consistency to apply but a little sheer. It was easy to build up though. I used 3 coats for the photos below.

Spare Me A French Quarter? is a raspberry creme. The formula was good, it was a nice smooth consistency and had great opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Suzi Nails New Orleans is a pink creme. The formula was good, it was easy to apply with good opacity but it didn't want to even out very well for me. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

Take A Right On Bourbon is a silvery gold frost. I don't care for this one but thats just my personal taste. The formula was a good consistency but it does show brush strokes and it didn't seem like they dried down and disappeared. I used 2 coats for the photos below.

The OPI New Orleans Collection is available now at authorized OPI relaters like Ulta, OPI retails for $10 each.

  2. Wondering if the green stained at all? I purchased that one (love greens too!) and haven't used it yet- those type of greens tend to terribly stain! TYIA, and sending well wishes to your grammy.

  11. Gorgeous swatches, as always, thank you.
A question for you: how would you compare the actual "Show Us Your Tips!" to Zoya Jo? They look really alike to me, at first glance.
Thanks in advance for your answer, if you have one. :)
