Hi guys! Today I have the Spring 2016 Collection from KBShimmer to share with you. For Spring KBShimmer came out with 2 collections, this one and the Mega Flame Collection (those will be up soon). This half contains some crellies, holos, shimmer and a glitter! KBShimmer also introduced a few new nail care products and I have one of those in this post also! Check out the swatches after the jump.
Hello Dahlia is a peachy orange with a subtle gold/pink shimmer. I was worried about this one for some reason, I thought the shade of orange might not work for me (I love peachy orange but they don't always love me back) but I ended up liking it a lot once I put it on. The formula was good, it was a touch sheer due to the base having a jelly quality to it but it builds easily and build opacity quickly. Depending on how you apply you'll need 2-3 coats, I used 3 for my swatches.
I Wet My Plants is a pastel periwinkle crelly with blue, silver and pink glitter. Besides having a funny name this one is also really pretty, its good for the season and not overloaded with glitter even though it looks like it might be in the bottle. The formula was good, it was smooth and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Peony Pincher is a lavender toned pink holo. The holo in this is really strong, I could even see it when I was just sitting on my couch in my living room. The formula was great, it was a nice consistency and fantastic opacity, it could easily be a 1 coater. I used 2 coats for my swatch to see if it intensified the color/holo but it didn't make a difference.
Pools Paradise is a light aqua blue crelly with subtle blue and pink neon glitter. Depending on your skintone this can lean to the green side of aqua but since I'm so fair and pink toned it leans blue on me.I really love how subtle the glitter is in this. The formula was ok, it was a bit more watery/thin than I prefer but I had no issues with application. This starts out sheer but builds easily and is opaque in 3 coats which is what I used for my photos.
Prints Charming is a white crelly with blue and fuchsia glitter. The formula is good, it is a little sheer but builds nicely, you could wear it over a white base if you wanted to possibly skip a coat of polish. I used 3 coats for the photos below.
Purr-Fectly Paw-Some is a blue holo. This holo is also super strong, just like Peony Pincher. I wore this to work and could easily see the holo in that crappy lighting :P The formula was good, it was easy to apply and had good opacity. I used 2 coats for the photos below.
Upside Round is a glitter topper of all circle glitter! This has all sorts of colors, from green to orange, purple and pink. It even has semi-transparent blue circle glitter that isn't visible in my swatch but you will be able to see it over a different base color. The formula is good, it was easiest to apply this by putting a blob of polish on the nail then spreading out the glitter over the entire nail. I used Upside Round over black for the photos below.
Last up is one of the new nail care items KBShimmer came out with, this is their new Matte top coat called Oh Matte! The also came out with a nail strenghtener (which I have been using and enjoying!) and a ridge filling base coat. Oh Matte! is a matte top coat which means you can put it over any polish to give it a matte effect. I really like this top coat, its one of the better matte top coats that I've tried. If you don't already own a matte top coat this is a good one to pick up!
KBShimmer's Spring Collection is available now at KBShimmer.com, each polish retails for $9.25. For international buyers you can find these at Harlow & Co!
