Hi guys! Today I have the Petals Collection for Spring 2016 from Zoya for you. This collection is made up of 6 shimmers. This collection is inspired by Spring gardens and I can definitely see that inspiration in each of the colors. Check out the swatches after the jump!
Aster is a periwinkle blue with silver and fuchsia shimmer. This is the standout of the collection for me, mostly because its the oddball. The collection feels a bit monotone and this is a nice pop of color to it. The formula was good, one of the best in the bunch...it applied smoothly with good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
Azalea is a medium vibrant pink with fuchsia shimmer. Aside from Aster this is my favorite of the collection, the shimmer stands out beautifully and it will carry into summer really easily if you like wearing seasonal shades. The formula was good, it was a good consistency and easy to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
Laurel is a pastel pink with a very subtle shimmer. The shimmer was a touch more noticeable in person than n my photos but not by much. The formula was ok, it was a bit streaky but it did level out nicely and was easy to apply. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
Leia is an opalescent white with strong fuchsia, green and gold shimmer. This one is sheer but does build to ok opacity on its own, personally I think I would prefer it as a topper. The formula on its own was good, it was easy to apply and had a good consistency. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
Tulip is a pale salmon with a very subtle shimmer. The shimmer in this is also a little more noticeable in person but not very much. I don't *love* this with my skin tone but I think it would look pretty fantastic on darker tones. The formula was not my favorite, I found it to be sheer and streaky. It did build it required some patience. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below.
Zahara is an orange leaning coral with silver/fuchsia shimmer. The formula was not my favorite for this one either, it was sheer but buildable. My main issue with this is that it didn't like my top coat for some reason. I know Zoya can sometimes be finicky with top coats but I used KBShimmer Clearly On Top which hasn't given me issues before with Zoya, so I'm not sure what the problem was. You might be able to see what I'm talking about on my middle and ring fingers, it make the polish ripple. I used 3 coats plus top coat for the photos below. s
