First Impression Friday: Great Lakes Lacquer

Happy Friday! Anyone doing anything for Father's Day on Sunday? I think we're probably just going out to dinner but I'm not sure yet. I still haven't gotten my Dad anything actually, I don't know what to get him this year...ugh! If anyone has some good Dad gift suggestions please let me know haha

Today for First Impression Friday I have some polishes from Great Lakes Lacquer to share with you! I've been wanting to try out this brand for a while finally pulled the trigger on an order a couple weeks ago! Great Lakes offers a lot of gorgeous shimmers and micro glitters which is what drew me in!

I placed my order on 5/31 and received everything on 6/9. Everything came in a box and the polishes were individually wrapped in bubble wrap. There was also a business card and a copy of my invoice included! Check out the polishes I got after the jump!

The Enigmatic Soul is a blue jelly base with  amethyst and copper shimmer along with emerald glitter. The formula was not my favorite unfortunately, I found it to be on the thick side and a little difficult to apply. I did read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this and no one mentioned it being thick so it might just be a batch issue or maybe a temperature issue during shipping...either way its nothing a few drops of thinner won't fix so no biggie. I used 2 coats plus top coat for my photos.

The Last Remaining Light is a blurple with pink shimmer and a sutble scattered holo. This is leaning a bit more blue than it looked in real life in my photos but it will go between blue and purple depending on your lighting and skin tone. The formula was great, I really liked the consistency and it was a breeze to apply with good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Unless is an emerald green jelly with all sorts of gold shimmer and copper glitter. The formula was good, it was a touch thick but easy to apply. I used 2 coats for my photos but in the future I'll probably use 3 coats since there are a couple patchy spots. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Overall I like what I picked up and will order from Great Lakes Lacquer again in the future! Unfortunately a couple of the polishes I picked up (Unless and The Enigmatic Soul) were just discontinued on the 15th but The Last Remaining Light is still available. You can find Great Lakes Lacquer at https://www.etsy.com/shop/GreatLakesLacquer polishes retail for $9-$11!

  1. These are gorgeous, specially enigmatic soul, so beautiful, great choices!

  2. Too bad the two were dc'd, they are really pretty. That green especially!

  3. I always love the Great Lakes polishes! Glad you liked them, too.
