First Impression Friday: Polish My Life

Happy Friday! Anyone have plans for the weekend? Tomorrow we're having a memorial/celebration for my Grandma at a restaurant that she and my Grandpa really loved. I'm looking forward to it though I'm sure it will be a hard day it will be nice to see family that I haven't seen in a while.

Today for First Impression Friday I have a few polishes I picked up from Polish My Life to share with you! This brand has been on my radar for a hot minute because they offer a lot of creme polishes and I love indie cremes! I had planned on trying them out at some point this year then the Los Angeles Trio of the Girls & Boys Collection was released with a gorgeous cobalt blue and I was like :O and went to place an order immediately.

I placed my order on 5/14/16 and received my package on 5/20, the turn around was great considering I ordered on the day the Los Angeles trio launched...I always expect to wait a little longer when I order during a first launch of a collection. The polishes arrived in a box and were beautifully wrapped inside, there was a piece of tissue paper around the polishes and it was tied with a ribbon with a business card tucked in. The polishes were individually bubble wrapped once you opened the tissue paper. A+ for presentation, I was seriously like whoa when I opened the box...extra touches like that are never expected but always appreciated when I order from an indie.

Check out what I got after the jump!

Falling Leaves is a butterscotch base with a subtle copper shimmer. This isn't a color everyone will love but I sure do like it! This is flattering on my skin tone and think it would look pretty amazing on deeper skin tones also. The formula was great, it was a really nice smooth consistency and applied easily with good opacity. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

Stripped is a white creme. Black and white polishes are what I go through the quickest in terms of polish so when I come across an indie with a white creme I like to pick it up so I can give it a whirl. The formula of stripped was good, I didn't have issues with it being streaky and the opacity was good. I used 2 coats plus top coat for the photos below.

For those wondering this is ok for stamping, not as good as white "stamping" polishes but good for a regular white polish.

Surfers & Skaters is a cobalt blue with blue shimmer and dark blue flecks. YUS this is what I'm talking about, I was not disappointed when I saw this beauty in the bottle upon arrival at my house. I don't *love* the blue flakes on the nail (they sort of look like unmixed pigment IMO) but its not something that will stop me from wearing this again.  The formula was great, it was a good consistency and had fantastic opacity. I used 2 coats but you may be able to get away with 1 depending on your polishing style. This did dry down a little matte and gritty but it was smooth with a coat of top coat.

Overall I'm really happy with what I picked up and will definitely be buying from Polish My Life again in the future. Polish My Life is available at http://www.polishmylife.com, polishes range from $7-$12

Thank you for leading me her way! The Los Angeles trio will be my beginning-of-summer-vacation-polish treat for myself.
